A new take on escape rooms has opened in Rancho Cucamonga, blending team strategy and digital technology inside innovative “game boxes.”

The immersive gaming franchise Electric Gamebox opened April 7 at Victoria Gardens.

Players in groups of two to six people go inside interactive “digital smart rooms,” or “Gamebox” pods. Inside the box, players use touch screens, Lidar and 3D-motion tracking to play a game.

Teams play a series of games and challenges that can only be completed through collaboration. The gaming experience, the company says, lasts between 15 and 60 minutes.

The new concept, which debuted in 2020, has locations in Houston, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Denver, Washington, D.C. and San Antonio, Texas.

Players of all ages can play at Electric Gamebox.

Ticket prices range from $5 to $30 and can be bought online and in the store. Address: 12505 N. Mainstreet. For more information, go to electricgamebox.com/
