The seventh anniversary of the San Bernardino terror attack will be commemorated in two separate ceremonies Friday.

On Dec. 2, 2015, Environmental Health Services employees were at an off-site training event at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino when an employee and his wife opened fire on them in a meeting room. Fourteen people died in the shooting and 22 were wounded. Both shooters later were killed in a gunbattle with police.

The Sanbernardino County government will stage an online remembrance at 10:55 a.m. Friday — the time of the attack at the Inland Regional Center — on the county’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Thirteen of the 14 people killed in the attack were employees of the county’s departments of Environmental Health and Public Health.

In addition, flags will be flown at half-staff at all county facilities Friday, and county officials are asking those who live or work in Sanbernardino County to do the same with their flags.

In June, the county unveiled the long-awaited $1.3 million memorial to the attack’s victims. The public is invited to visit the Curtain of Courage memorial at the east side of the County Government Center at 385 N. Arrowhead Ave. in San Bernardino on Friday.

Later in the day, Cal State San Bernardino will have its annual Day of Remembrance event at 3 p.m. at the campus’ Peace Garden to honor those killed in the attack, five of whom were CSUSB alumni. The garden features a fivesided pedestal, with each side featuring a plaque with the name and degree information for each alumnus.

The garden, located on the south side of the college’s Chemical Science Building, was opened in 2016. A bell atop the pedestal will ring 14 times, once for each victim of the 2015 attack.
