Six 2023 high school graduates from the Riverside area recently received $2,500 STAR Scholarships from the P.E.O. Sisterhood, recommended by P.E.O. chapters in Riverside and Corona.
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for women in their final year of high school to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the United States or Canada in the next academic year. The scholarship is for women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success, according to a news release.

six of the seven locally nominated women, according to the news release.
The six local scholarships are part of the 1,000 STAR Scholarships P.E.O International awarded this year in the United States and Canada.
