Gary passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Paula; his brother, David, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Frank; daughter, Tammy; son, Donald; brothers, Don, Ron; and his sister, Sally. Gary was born in Sacramento, California, graduated from McClatchy High school in 1964, and enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1966. He served in the Vietnam War as a machine gunner and was awarded several medals including a Purple Heart. He attended college after the military then worked in the Diesel Repair business for many years and retired from Cummins West as a Field Service Engineer. Gary was a hardworking, fun loving man who loved his family, friends and cared about his community. He was a member of several service clubs, worked with the Boy Scouts, taught gun safety classes and was a volunteer Park Ranger. He lived a full life enjoying hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, camping, golfing, his Labrador Retrievers, and his Chivas Regal. He will be missed by many. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at his home on Saturday, December 15, 2018 between 2:00 and 6:00p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.
