On August 13, 2023, Ontaria “Terry” Richardson peacefully passed into eternal rest surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Humnoke, Ark., to the late Eliga Suggs and Savannah Suggs (Bishop).

He was also known as “Dee Dee” to many family and friends. At an early age, he moved to Bauxite and then later relocated to Benton.

He confessed a hope in Christ at Johnson Street Church of Christ under the leadership of Brother Arthur Fulson Jr. He remained a faithful member until God called him home.

He was united in holy matrimony to the late Twila (Madison) Richardson for 41 years. To this union, six children were born.

Ontaria found pleasure in helping others. He loved the Church of Christ where he served as a loyal dedicated elder. In the church, he worked in several ministries which includes bible study, prison ministry, food pantry and others.

He worked many jobs over the years including Benton Veterinary Hospital, Sears, and Huckabee’s.

He had a since of pride for his community where he enjoyed being a part of the Benton City Council. He retired as a veterinary helper of 51 years. He had a profound compassion for loving animals all types big, tall, short, and small he loved them all. He also had Love for people as he never met a stranger. Whether it was local or coast to coast, he always had something to say and always talked about Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Twila M Richardson; one son, Larry Richardson; and a daughter, Twila Mae Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his memory four loving devoted daughters, Sarah Richardson, Savannah Richardson, Ann Spencer-cole, and Betty Richardson all of Benton; two grandsons, Jonathon Cox and Dr. Richard Spencer-cole both of Benton; one granddaugh­ter, Juanita Pickens of Benton; one greatgrand­son, Antwon Cox of Benton; three special friends Shelly Bradley, Tammy Powell, and Criss Mcquary; as well as a host of loving and amazing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral and family visitation hour will be at Johnson Street Church of Christ, 101 Johnson Street in Benton.

Family visitation hour will be held from from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on

Saturday Aug. 19.
