Myka Bono Sample completes the Leading on Purpose Academy
Myka Bono Sample, Saline County Circuit Clerk and Recorder, successfully completed the inaugural Leading on Purpose Academy, facilitated by the Professional Development Academy in partnership with the National Association of Counties.
The 8-week program helped participants representing counties across the nation gain increased clarity in their roles as leaders and increased confidence in their ability to lead on purpose.
“The Leading on Purpose program provided a unique and challenging professional development experience that will help us accomplish our goals in Saline County,” said Sample. “The mix of real-time instruction, webinars, and engagement with a cohort of colleagues gave me the chance to learn from distinguished experts alongside county professionals who are facing similar challenges and opportunities.”
Almost 400 leaders graduated from the inaugural Leading on Purpose cohort. They join more than 10,000 professionals from nearly two-thirds of the nation’s counties who have participated in NACO’S Leadership Academies since 2018. Enrollment is now open for 2024 program sessions.
The National Association of Counties (NACO) strengthens America’s counties, including nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees.
Founded in 1935, NACO unites county officials to advocate for county government priorities in federal policymaking; promote exemplary county policies and practices; nurture leadership skills and expand knowledge networks; optimize county and taxpayer resources and cost savings; and enrich the public’s understanding of county government.
