BAUXITE -- The Bauxite Lady Miners are warming back up ahead of the end of the regular season.

After taking down a stout Sheridan squad, the Lady Miners added to more tallies to the win column Friday and Monday, taking down Sylvan Hills and White Hall, both in nonconference play.

Bauxite had its way with Sylvan Hills, bashing out 14 hits for 16 runs in the blowout affair. The Lady Miners would win 16-3.

Despite the final score, Bauxite would be in trouble early, trailing 3-0 in the first after a three-run home run to left put the Lady Miners in a hole.

Bauxite would begin its comeback quest in the second, however, using a Avery Green Rbi-double trim the deficit to 3-1. Kady Jacks would score on the knock.

Holding Sylvan Hills scoreless in the second the Lady Miners would embark on a barrage of runs in the third, scoring seven on five hits.

Jaycee Mcclellan led things off with a triple, followed by a walk to Madalynn Bermingham. An error following would make it 3-2 as Mcclellan scored to make it 3-2.

Bauxite would take the lead for good its next atbat as Katie Wells drove a two-run homer to center. Jadyn Mcdade would come in on the longball, making it 4-2 Bauxite.

Looking for more and still battling with only one out, the Lady Miners would add another run on a fielder’s choice RBI from Zoey Hicks before a bases-clearing double from Mcclellan later capped the inning with Bauxite in front 8-3.

Jacks would double home Emma King in the fourth, adding some insurance to an already strong lead.

Bauxite would continue the offensive domination in the sixth, scoring four runs on three doubles and an error in the span of four plate appearances.

Bermingham would make it 16-3 Bauxite with a three-run triple later in the inning, ending the game early via sportsmanship rule.

Five Lady Miners contributed with multiple hits, led by Bermingham with three RBIS. Wells, Jacks, Green and Hicks would all add a pair of RBIS each and combined seven runs scored in the win.

From the circle, Bermingham was strong after the first inning, allowing only those three runs on eight hits and a walk. She would strike out four on the night.

On Monday, Bauxite would have much more of a fight with White Hall as it held the visiting team to zero runs on seven hits. The Lady Miners would hang on for the 1-0 win.

The game’s lone run would come in the third on an RBI single from

Wells. King would cross the dish for the score.

Hoping for more magic from the circle, Bermingham was stellar, allowing only seven hits and zero runs or walks to go along with nine strikeouts.

Jacks would lead Bauxite with two hits in the win.

The Lady Miners move to 15-6 overall on the year and remain 5-0 in conference action.

Bauxite returned to play Tuesday with its final conference match of the year at Lonoke. See an upcoming issue of The Saline Courier for full details.
