Violet M. Oliver of Saratoga Springs; Annette L. Carden of Stillwater; Alberta Debuonaven­tura of Ballston Spa; Mary E. Gallamore of Saratoga Springs.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Violet M. Oliver of Jefferson Street passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Wesley Health Care Center after a brief illness. She was 87.

Born Sept. 18, 1925, in Middle Falls, N. Y., she was the daughter of the late Jessie F. and Frances Clark.

Violet worked for many years at Skidmore College and was member of the Principess­a Elena.

In addition to her parents, Violet was predecease­d by her husband, Charles R. Oliver; one son, Charles “Chuck” Oliver; two daughters, Mary Oliver Bradley and Joyce E. Oliver; two sons- in- law, Davie Zabielski and Ernest Wren; her brothers, Joseph Clark and Jesse Clark; sisters, Beverly Martin, Ruth Dowen and Loretta ( Cookie) Dowen; her half- brothers, Earl Clark, Guy Clark and Lyle Clark; a half-sister, Blanch Clark; and her sister- inlaw, Kathleen Clark.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Sr. (Becky) Oliver of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Jesse Oliver of Saratoga Springs; her daughters, Wanda Wren and Melissa Zabielski, both of Saratoga Springs; seven brothers, Kenneth ( Anna Mae) Clark of Ballston Spa, Gorman Clark of Gansevoort, Frederick (Carol) Clark, Martin ( Joanne) Clark, Charles Clark and Richard (Janet) Clark, all of Saratoga Springs, and Donald ( Ellen) Clark of Belle Glade, Fla.; four sisters, Alice Vidnansky, Marilyn Bayer, Bertha Whipple and Marlene ( Doug) Fuller, all of Saratoga Springs; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Oliver; her grandchild­ren, Thomas Kail of Burnt Hills, Charles (Rhonda) Oliver of Oceanside, Calif., Kathi ( Mike) Elmore of Queensbury, Kelley ( Oliver) Bayer of Sa ra toga Springs, Richard Jr. (Julie) Oliver of Pinglee Grove, Ill., Tracy (John) Bateholts of Gansevoort, Katie ( Greg) Garmley of Schuylervi­lle, Lyndsey Brown of Palm Harbor, Fla.; her greatgrand­children, Alycia Howe, Brendan Oliver, Jaime Oliver, Dalton Oliver, Karli Bayer, Camryn Kail, Riley Oliver, Khyler Garmley, Kyerra Garmley, Jennah Oliver, Michael Oliver, Samuel Oliver and Camille Oliver.

In lieu of flowers, Violet’s family is requesting donations to the St. Peter’s ALS ( Lou Gehrigs Disease) Regional Center of 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY 12205.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nursing home staff and aides at Wesley Health Care Center and Saratoga Hospital.

“Ma, We watched your tears from your broken heart. Today, we watched you smile. You are home with your children. God only takes the best. We love you, Mom, and will see you again someday.”

Relatives and friends may call from 10 a. m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, 584-5373. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the family plot at Greenridge Cemetery on Lincoln Avenue.
