SPAC raffling lease of car to benefit ballet

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Residents across the Capital Region will have the opportunit­y to support Saratoga Performing Arts Center by purchasing a raffle ticket for the chance to win a two-year lease on a new Toyota Prius, courtesy of New Country Toyota.

The winning ticket will be selected and announced at Hattie’s “Mardi Gras” party Saturday, Jan. 19, at Canfield Casino. All proceeds from the raffle and from the Mardi Gras event will benefit SPAC’s New York City Ballet residency.

“A raffle ticket for the chance to win a new car is the ultimate stocking stuffer this holiday. We’re so grateful to New Country Toyota for this incredibly generous donation, which will add to the excitement of Hattie’s Mardi Gras party while raising critical- ly needed funds for SPAC’s New York City Ballet residency,” SPAC President and Executive Director Marcia J. White said.

The Toyota Prius, a hybrid car with an estimated 45 to 50 mpg, has won numerous awards, including “Top Safety Pick” in its class by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and Consumer Reports’ “Top Pick Green Car” for the 11th time and ninth consecutiv­e year.

The winner will receive a two-year lease on a new Prius and two years of compliment­ary service, including oil changes and tire rotations.

Tickets are $20 each and available at spac.org or by calling 584- 9330, ext. 122. Ticket-holders do not need to be present during the drawing to win. Individual­s must be 18 or older to enter. The winner will be responsibl­e for auto insurance.

Hattie’s Annual Mardi Gras soiree was founded by Saratoga Springs restaurate­urs Jasper and Beth Alexander in 2001 as a way to support local nonprofits. The annual event has raised more than $250,000 for various charities since its inception including Shelters of Saratoga, Saratoga YMCA, Saratoga Hospital and Saratoga Sponsor- aScholar.

The Mardi Gras event begins at 6 p. m. and features compliment­ary cocktails for the first hour, Mardi Gras- inspired cuisine by Hattie’s owner and chef Jasper Alexander, a silent auction and entertainm­ent by Garland Nelson, Soul Session and dancers from the Northeast Ballet.
