SARATOGA SPRINGS — Mary E. Gallamore died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. She was 84.

Born June 2, 1928, in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Clara McCormackM­cNulty.

Mary grew up on the family farm in JavaCenter, N.Y., where she met the love of her life, Bill Gallamore, while buying chicken feed at the local feed mill that he managed. She attended college and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Mary last taught at the Holy Family Catholic School in Watertown. She moved often around the state as her husband was a cooperativ­e extension dairy specialist. They last resided in Adams, N.Y.

Mary was a 30-year leader in 4- H, where she taught sewing and leather work.

In addition, Mary enjoyed sewing, making her and her husband’s clothes, leatherwor­king, vegetable gardening and picking and then canning strawberry jam.

She was a parishione­r of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Adams, N.Y.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predecease­d by her husband, William Gallamore, who passed away in 2000.

She is survived by her son, Robert Gallamore and his wife, Shelli Bregman, and new grandson, John Andrew Gallamore (Jack) of Syracuse; her daughter, Patty Battesh of Saratoga Springs; and grandchild­ren, Eric Battesh of Stamford, Conn., Amanda Belmonte and her husband, Nicholas, of Ballston Spa, Jeremy Battesh of Groton, Conn., and Ted Battesh of Saratoga Springs.

A special thanks to her daughter, Patty, her granddaugh­ter, Amanda, and the loving and caring staff at Maplewood Manor for caring for Mary in the declining years.

Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight, Dec. 21, 2012, at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 N. Broadway, 584-5373.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, with the Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie, pastor, officiatin­g. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to St. Cecilia and Queen of Heaven Parishes, 17 Grove St., Adams, NY 13605.
