GREENFIELD CENTER — Milo Czupil, 91, of Route 9N died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at his home following a short illness.

Born Aug. 20, 1921, in Greenfield, he was the son of the late John and Anna Czupil.

Milo was a lifelong resident of Greenfield Center. He joined the U.S. Army on Oct. 7, 1942, serving during World War II in the European Theater in several battles, receiving several awards and medals, including the Bronze Star, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Bronze Star Attachment and the World War II Victory Medal.

Milo was employed at General Electric in Schenectad­y as a steamfitte­r for 33 years until his retirement. He enjoyed farming, raising animals, cutting firewood and living off the land. He also was proud to donate land to the local Boy Scouts club.

Survivors include one brother, John Czupil Jr. of Greenfield Center; three nephews, John Czupil III of Texas, Mike Czupil of Greenfield Center and Bobby Czupil of San Jose, Calif.; and many greatniece­s, great-nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Densmore Funeral Home Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth. Graveside services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Greenfield Cemetery, North Greenfield Road, Greenfield Center, with the Rev. Kenneth Swain officiatin­g.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Greenfield Center Fire Department Co. 1, P. O. Box 57, Greenfield Center, NY 12833.
