Jon Mueller fires a three-hitter to lead Ballston Spa baseball over Shaker,

BALLSTON SPA — Jon Mueller threw a complete- game three- hitter as the Ballston Spa baseball team routed Shaker 10- 1 Tuesday. Mueller struck out seven and walked two while also contributi­ng two hits and two runs.

Niskayuna 1 CLIFTON PARK — Justin Yurchak had two RBIs and Aaron Kalish gave up zero earned runs through six innings as Shenendeho­wa defeated Niskayuna. Kalish permitted six hits and fanned one in the game, while Matt Buckley added an RBI hit for the Plainsmen. Greenwich 4, Stillwater 2 GREENWICH — Corey Winch improved to 4- 1 on the mound as Greenwich edged Stillwater. Winch scattered four hits and struck out five over six innings, permitting one run. He also added two hits and an RBI at the plate.

John Barnes contribute­d two hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Witches, which improved to 14-2 (9-2).

For Stillwater, Schuyler Radliff tallied two hits and Jake Nadeau took the loss on the mound. Greenwich hosts Hoosic Valley in a critical matchup Thursday.

Corinth 8, Salem 4 CORINTH — Greg Kelley went 2- for- 4 with a home run and two RBIs to help Corinth defeat Salem. Zach Shippee threw five effective innings to improve to 3-1 on the mound for the Tomahawks (10-5, 9-4).

Alex Jenkins finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Cassidy White tallied two hits. Corinth hosts Hadley- Luzerne in a matchup today.

1 on the year. Greenwich 9, Stillwater 1 GREENWICH — Sarah Heimbach allowed zero earned runs in a complete-game victory as Greenwich beat Stillwater to improve to 14-2 (110). Heimbach struck out seven and contribute­d three singles at the plate.

In addition for Greenwich, Samantha Whitehouse had two hits, Kali Nolan tallied three hits and Carolyn Strasswimm­er recorded two hits.

Burnt Hills 5, Saratoga Springs 4 BURNT HILLS — In the top of the 10th with the tie- breaking runner on second, Madison Livingston drove in Sydney Vishneowsk­i for the goahead run as Saratoga Springs fell to Burnt Hills. For the Spartans, Brittany Ryan was 3-for-5 with a double, Meghan Cullen had a double, a single and two RBIs and Courtney Haff finished with two hits and two RBIs. Burnt Hills improved to 5-7 in league play and 7-8 overall.

For Saratoga, Sara Willner- Giwerc went 3for-5 with one RBI, Bailey Motala was 2- for- 4 with two RBIs and Morgan Rumpf finished with two hits. South Glens Falls 8, Scotia-Glenville 0 SCOTIA — Samantha Hubinsky threw a complete- game one- hitter, striking out 13 to lift South Glens Falls over Scotia- Glenville. Hubinsky improved to 10-2, and contribute­d a double at the plate as well.

Shannon Higgins went 2- for- 4 and Mallory Celeste finished with a triple for the Bulldogs, which improved to 14- 3 (10-1). weekend. Schumaker was the state champion on the vault and floor exercise, while placing second in the all-around competitio­n. At the Eastern Nationals, she was fourth on beam with a 9.225 and ninth on vault with a 9.275.

Gymnasts in four regions representi­ng 26 states competed in the Eastern Gymnastics Championsh­ips. New York is part of Region 6, which includes gymnasts from New York, Massachuse­tts, Rhode Island, Connecticu­t, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Schumaker trains at World Class Gymnastics in Latham.
