SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Senior Matt Garcia pitched a complete game, scattering five hits and striking out four in the South Glens Falls’ baseball team’s 5- 3 victory over Hudson Falls Wednesday.
The Bulldogs improved to 8-9 (5-6) and were paced by Mitch Fearis, who was 2- for- 3 with a double and Robert Olsen, who produced a double.
South Glens Falls meets Hudson Falls in a rematch Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Softball
Waterford-Halfmoon 12, New Lebanon 1 WATERFORD — Ashley Lefebvre racked up 17 strikeouts over seven innings to help Waterford-Halfmoonrout New Lebanon. The Fordians improved to 13-0 in league play.
Lefebvre scattered four hits, allowing one run in the game. Abby Haldeman had a double and two singles, while Fordian’s teammates Dana Julian and Carly Brazill recorded two RBIs and one RBI, respectively.
Emma Willard 14, Saratoga Catholic 7 TROY — Saratoga Catholic jumped out to a 30 first inning lead, but couldn’t hold on as the Saints fell to Emma Willard. Meghan McDonough finished 3-for-3 and Ameilia Bielefeld took the loss in the circle.
The Saints dropped to 10-5 (7-3)
Boys Lacrosse
Schuylerville 17, Maple Hill 1 SCHUYLERVILLE — Schuylerville enhanced its record to 10- 0 in league play with a victory over Maple Hill Thursday.
Luke Pumiglia had four goals and two assists, Morgan Cornell tallied a hat trick and two assists, and Anthony Craft posted a hat trick for the Black Horses.
Ian Vincent recorded two goals and one helper, while Will Nevins and Zach Pierce had two goals apiece. Tommy Thompson had seven saves in net.
Shaker 13, Ballston Spa 5 LATHAM — Coltin Moseman had two goals and Jon Blake posted 14 saves in net, but Ballston Spa fell to Shaker. Jake Gargiulo tallied one goal and one assist, while Garrett O'Grady and Colin Cunningham both scored once.
Girls Lacrosse
Burnt Hills 11, Saratoga Springs 10 BURNT HILLS — Hanna Wise tallied a hat trick and Molly Kern had a hat trick and two assists, but Saratoga came up short to Burnt Hills.
Briana Sirianni contributed two goals and one assist for Saratoga.
For Burnt Hills, Nicole Beardsley had five goals and one assist, while teammate Emily Ankabrandt finished with two goals and one assist.
Lexie Ball made 10 saves in net for the Spartans, while Zoie Cavotta posted six saves for the Blue Streaks.
Schuylerville 17, South Glens Falls 6 SCHUYLERVILLE — Megan Young had five goals and two assists and Breanna Miller had four goals and three assists as Schuylerville defeated South Glens Falls. Carley Marcellus and Gabby Cappobianco tallied two goals apiece, while McKayla Williams had 10 saves in goal for the Black Horses.
For the Bulldogs, Courntey Coons posted a hat trick and one assist, Kassandra Krepplin scored twice and Shelby West had 11 saves in net.
Travel Baseball
Heat 13U goes undefeated in tourney NORTH BRANFORD, Ct. — The Adirondack Heat 13U travel baseball team started the 2013 campaign going unbeaten in the Triple Crown Sports " Spring Slump Buster" tournament this past weekend. The Heat outscored its opponents 70-4 over the 5-game tournament en route to the title. Adirondack got the No. 2 seed, finishing 2-0 in pool play with victories over teams from New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Ryan Munro, Jake Fox, Nick Debrino and Garrett Camoin each collected three hits in the championship game win over the Connecticut Titans by a score of 10- 2. The title qualifies the Heat for the July 17- 21 Triple Crown Summer Nationals "Super 64" in Myrtle Beach S. C., where the top 64 13U teams in the country will play over a five- day period.
The Heat will compete in the 14U AABC, NABF and PONY State/Regional tournaments this upcoming season.
Youth Baseball Saratoga National Little League Scores MAJORS Lions 6, PBA 4
Jack Kelley and Ashton Capone both singled. Justin Kislowski and Tyrese Reeves both had doubles to secure the win for the Lions.

Justin Kislowski hit for the cycle for the Lions. Ashton Capone and Jayden Williamson both singled and Ethan Dietz had the gamewinning single, scoring two runs in the game. Noah Flanders had a double and Wam Hill struck out seven for Crest Care

Luke Stazak had his minor league debut. Liam Baldwin had two hits and Joey Gold had an RBI-single for Gaffney's. Saratoga Firefighter's 9, Sandlot Marketing 2
Tobias Selkis had a triple and Dean Dennison hit a fly- ball to the outfield for Sandlot. Hunter Chandler pitched three great innings and had a triple. Shawn Taber and Josh D'Addio both had RBI singles for SSFD.
Gateway Dermatology 8, Harris Beach 1
For Gateway, Jack Marquette and Justin Kedik both tripled and Austin Perry had two hits. Chase Corbett, Orion Lansing, John Gleason and Doug Johnson all had hits for Gateway.
Lars Ellwanger tripled and made two great plays in the field. Walter Thompson struck out two in his pitching debut for Harris Beach.
Sandlot Marketing 10, Liberty Tax 2
Aaron Dressell had a hit in his first game for Sandlot. Joey Barreto pitched two solid innings and Charlie DiDanoto had a hit for Liberty.
Saratoga Firefighter's 4, Harris Beach 1
Jax Todorovic made a great catch on a hard line- drive to win the game. Nick Kislowski and Zach Horwitz contributed with key hits for SSFD.
John Groff got his first hit in the minors and Wesley Griffiths struck out four in his pitching debut for Harris Beach.
Gaffney's 3, Gateway Dermatology 1
Joey Gold had the gamewinning triple with two RBIs, Paul Steves had two hits with an RBI and Anthony Barile got his first win of the season for Gaffney's.
Saratoga Firefighter's 6, Gateway Dermatology 1
Jax Todorovic struck out all seven batters he faced for the winners. Max Murauskas had two hits and Owen Murphy made a great play in right field for SSFD.
Jack Marquette had a RBI triple for Gateway.
Sandlot Marketing 12, Harris Beach 8
Jack Thompson and Shea Hogan made great defensive plays and Julian Hrbek pitched three innings of no-hit ball for Sandlot Marketing.
