SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saratoga-based Parting Glass Racing will be represented by Wholelottashakin in the $ 100,000 Yaddo Stakes for New York-bred females at 1 1/16 miles on turf Friday at Saratoga Race Course.

The 4- year- old Scat Daddy filly was making a good move in the On The Bus Stakes on opening day when she encountered severe traffic problems, bumping several times with rival Shakeira in the stretch.

“She had a little laceration on one of the sides of her hip,” said trainer Tom Bush of the incident. “It was nothing serious and she seemed to bounce out of the race well. So I’m happy to give it one more try. She had a nice work on the turf last week. We held her and she gave us a nice big finish, and that was kind of the design of the race last time until we got into trouble.”

The 4-year-old filly had a strenuous campaign last year, appearing in several stakes races from March through November.

She was a good second to Yaddo favorite Dayatthespa in the $ 100,000 Sweetest Chant Stakes at Gulfstream Park going a mile, and completed her season with a victory in a state-bred optional claimer at Aqueduct in November.

“I think both Tom and I agree that she has come back very well off the layoff,” said Parting Glass chief Tom Gallo. “We were hoping to make Showcase Day last fall, but she had gotten stale, so we sent her to Ocala Stud for 60 days and it did absolute wonders Wholelottashakin, trained by Tom Bush, is prepared to run in today’s Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. for her. She has come back more mature and physically more aggressive, but in the right way.”

Wholelottashakin’s local owners include Paul Caputo, Mike Reynolds, Bill Clement, Jean Taylor and Brian Johnson.

She will be making just her third start after the vacation that lasted from Nov. 21, 2012 to June 26, 2013.

“She’s a real nice filly to be around, although she’s a little bit mean in the stall,” said Bush. “But she’s great to gallop and easy to work, because if you want to go easy the first part and finish, she’s very good about doing that. This is kind of how we want to ride her, to cover her up and just let her make that one run. We’re going to give her her best chance.”

Jose Lezcano is aboard for the Yaddo.

Dayatthespa looms large in the Yaddo, with her outstanding turf record and earnings of $653,892, by far the tops among this group.

She won the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth last fall at Keeneland and is unbeaten in two victories at Saratoga, including the Riskaverse Stakes last summer.

Shakeira also has a good Saratoga record, with two victories last summer, and she captured the Mount Vernon
