What is circuit Flower?

circuit Flower, in its current iteration, is really just umbrage for all the freelance work i do. Most of what i do, to pay the rent, is website design and interactive media, but occasionally this includes interactive electronics. My long-term goal is to redefine web interfaces, to include “devices” that are less composed of cold, hard plastic and metal, and include a more tactile experience, with textiles and immersive environments.

Why did you start the business? i’ve been working on some of these projects for the past few years — some for the past decade — but have become more serious about Web integration, as a marketable product, in the past year.

What is your favorite invention so far? it’s so hard to decide! i do love the Ode to helen Keller, but i still think the circuit Flower is my favorite because the concept of alternative Web interfaces has so much potential.

How has working at the Center of Gravity helped you with your endeavors? The support. The freedom. The feeling like anything is possible, and that i’m not crazy for imagining things that won’t necessarily be marketable in the immediate future.

What do you like about what you do? i love incorporating tactile experiences with visual interfaces. i can also sit and code websites for about 13 hours straight without looking away.
