Kenneth A. Pettit

Kenneth A. Pettit, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 13, 1924, in Saratoga Springs, New York, he was the son of Arthur and Hazel Pettit. Ken worked at Knight Orchards, and then was a bus driver and custodian for Burnt Hills schools and later worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for many years, retiring in 1979.

After his retirement, Ken owned and operated Ken’s Tires.

He was an avid hunter and a member of the NRA.

He was predeceased by his daughters, Patricia Pettit and Holly Pettit, and sister Mary Crawford.

Ken is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; his sons, David Pettit (Debra) of Erwin, Tennessee, and Tim Pettit (Margaret) of Ballston Spa; daughter-in-law, Doris Pettit; granddaughters, Patty Kolberg (John), Pamela Thew (Jody), Jamie Propper (Chad), Catherine Ten Eyck (Da- vid) and Erika Pettit (Steve); great-grandchildren, Derek, Joey, Jordan, Sierra, Eric, Cassie, Mackenzie, Timothy, Nathaniel and Katie; stepgrandchildren, Amy Epting (Scott) and Susan Freeman (Ryan); step-greatgrandchildren, Dylan, Reese, Amber and Morgan; brother, Dale Pettit (Lois) of North Carolina; sister Marjorie Palmatier (Harold) of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Ballston Spa Cemetery on Garrett Road in Ballston Spa
