Mrs. Elizabeth C. Morris, age 93, was received into the Arms of the Lord on July 23, 2016 peacefully at home in the presence of her family. Born Elizabeth Irene Chard on April 16, 1923 in Ballston Spa, NY she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elinor Chard.
Elizabeth attended Ballston Spa schools and graduated in 1941. Eliza beth worked in a music store before she was ployed by General Electric 1943.
On March 20, 1943 she was united in marriage to Dr. William Morris. That union lasted 42 years until his passing in 1985. She was also predeceased by her daughter in law, Hedy K. Morris and a son Ed2015. ward “Rocky” Morris in
Following her marriage to William, they traveled the world together during his tenure with the United States Navy, living in Charlton, Galway, New York City, Plymouth, England, Winthrop MA, North Chicago and Cherry Hill, NJ. They returned to Amsterdam in 1964 where they lished the Morris family residence on Market Street. In later years, she assisted her husband with the Dr. William Morris Medical Office. Elizabeth had been an active member of the former Trinity Church in Amsterdam. She was a deeply religious person exhibiting a love for people and music.
Survivors include her children, David C. Morris of Amsterdam, NY, Lorraine (Gene) Shaylor of Fort Johnson, NY, Dena Marie (Rick) Tenney of Loudonville, NY; siblings, Jack Chard of Ballston Spa, NY, Edna Mae Chard and family of Canon City, Colorado, and Eleanor phy and family of Ballston Spa, NY; grandsons, ert Morris of Amsterdam, NY, and Michael Tenney of Loudonville, NY; daughters Katherine mody (Sean) of Plattsburg, NY and Erica Lynn Tenney of Schenectady, NY; great grandchildren Noah Restifo of Schenectady, NY, Margaret and Clara Dermody of Plattsburg, NY; also many nieces and nephews including, WarKris ren Litts, Kathleen Litts, Linda Noble and Donna Miller. There are also a number of aunts, uncles and cousins and beloved friends including Trent and Judy Mitchell, Berner, Eleanor’s children, Nancy, Susan and Jane and Edna Mae’s children, Carol, LinSherfamilies. da, Robert, Carl Jr., rie and Barbara and their

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Sweetman Cemetery.
