Breakfast to focus in millennials in manufacturing
MALTA >> The Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School will host a business and education breakfast focusing on Millennials in Manufacturing from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hudson Valley Community College’s TECSMART in Malta.
Area business leaders, partners, work force stakeholders, civic leaders, students, teachers, school counselors and administrators are invited for a complimentary breakfast to celebrate Manufacturing Week at TECSMART by participating in a discussion with young professionals who are making an impact in manufacturing.
The panel includes representatives from NYSERDA, Applied Robotics, GlobalFoundries and Simmons Machine Tool Corporation. During the discussion we will explore how the next generation of manufacturers can prepare for new opportunities and challenges in the manufacturing sector.
Launched in the 2011-12 school year by the Ballston Spa Central School District, in collaboration with NYSERDA and Hudson Valley Community College, the program provides current high school students with opportunities to develop college and career readiness skills and pursue college coursework. The program currently enrolls more than 275 students from 25 school districts located throughout the region.
The event is being sponsored by the Workforce Development Institute .
