ANNUAL EASTER BAKE SALE: The Antiochian Women of St. George’s Orthodox Church welcome you to their Annual Easter Bake Sale on Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parish Center, Main and Second Streets in South Glens Falls. CORNELL HILL FIRE TOWER: Spring is in the air and that means that the Cornell Hill Fire Tower at Historic Camp Saratoga at Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will be reopening on the weekend of April 8-9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Climb an authentic fire tower without having to climb a mountain. Get a treetop view of Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park and visit a re-created fire ranger cabin complete with a vegetable garden. FREE SKIN CANCER SCREENING: Skin cancer is the most common of cancers, accounting for nearly half of all cases in the United States. Incidences of melanoma, the most serious type, have increased by more than 2000% since the 1930’s. At current rates, melanoma takes approximately one life every hour. With the long days of summer quickly approaching, now is the perfect time to be checked. This Skin Cancer Screening Clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at C.R. DASA & CHARACTER EDUCATION: On Monday, April 10, Saratoga Springs City School District will present a program on DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) and character education. The program, put on by the District’s Parent University committee and the District’s DASA committee, will discuss what DASA is, how the DASA law impacts school procedures and ongoing initiative to include monthly character education traits into the curriculum. BOARD OF EDUCATION BUDGET WORKSHOP: Saratoga Springs City School District residents will consider a school budget proposal for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, May 16.
