Taste of Ballston Spa
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. >> The Ballston Spa Education Foundation held its annual Taste of Ballston Spa fundraiser on Monday at the Ballston Spa High School.
More than 175 people joined in this year’s event and helped raise more than $6,000. All proceeds from the event support enrichment projects in the Ballston Spa schools.
Guests sampled offerings from some of the area’s most popular restaurants and food vendors, including Henry’s Irish Tavern, Lily and the Rose Catering, Saratoga Chocolate Company, Local 388 Burger Bar, Sunset Cafe, Sushi Thai Garden, Leon’s Mexican Restaurant, Augie’s, Pizza Works, Ripe Tomato American Grille, Front St. Deli, Next Door Kitchen and Bar, and Dunning Street Station.
More than $1,000 was raised through a drawing which featured over 25 items that were donated by additional area businesses and community members.
Students in the district’s IB Visual Arts Program displayed their art projects. Displays from past grant recipients were also on exhibit at the event, including information and demonstrations by the Ballston Spa High School’s Robotics team.
Thanks to sponsors, all ticket proceeds will directly benefit students in the Ballston Spa Central School District. Major sponsors included the Adirondack Trust Company, The Ballston Journal Online, Richard J. Connors & Streever Agency, Inc. — Insurance, VFW Post 358, American Legion, Donnellan & Knussman, PLLC, DeCrescente Distributing Company and Balloons by Celebration, Inc.
The BSEF is now holding a drawing for a five-night stay for two in Dublin, Ireland. The tickets are $30 a piece or four (4) for $100. Tickets are available via any BSEF Board Member or email info@bspaedfoundation.com. The winner will be drawn on May 5, 2017 at the First Friday event in Ballston Spa.
The Ballston Spa Education Foundation raises and distributes funds for educators to enhance the educational experience of students in grades K-12. Since 1996, the volunteer driven, non-profit foundation has awarded more than $340,000 in grants directly to Ballston Spa public school teachers.
