GUILDERLAN­D 17, SARATOGA 10 >> Guilderlan­d handed Saratoga just their second loss of the season. The Dutchmen got out to a 9-4 halftime lead, and held on for the win. Futia had four goals and two assists for Guilderlan­d. Frank had five goals for Saratoga Springs.

HOOSIC VALLEY 1, SARATOGA CATHOLIC 0 >> Emma Irwin’s RBI single in the sixth inning was enough for Hoosic Valley in a win to improve to 12-6. Spa Catholic fell to 7-7 on the year. They recorded at just two hits for the afternoon. They came from Sabrina Jackson and Julia Murdick. MECHANICVI­LLE 5, HOOSICK FALLS 0>> Erin Salvadore got the shut-

out win for Mechancvil­le, recording two strikeouts and a walk in the win. Amanda Kenyon had two singles and an RBI. Madison Harrington had a double and an RBI. Emily Ford had an RBI as well. Hoosick Falls had just three singles on the day. MECHANICVI­LLE 18, STILLWATER 3 >> Mechanicvi­lle followed up their Friday win with a big win on Saturday. They scored at least one run every inning, including six runs in the third inning. Emily Ford had three RBIs on a double and two singles. Taylor Lescault had a three-run home run for Stillwater in the first inning. SARATOGA 6, SCHUYLERVI­LLE 0 >> Saratoga allowed just two hits and struck out 11 batters in a shutout win. SHENENDEHO­WA 4, SARATOGA 0 >> Saratoga had just two hits on Friday, as Shen scored two runs in the third and one in the fifth and sixth innings. SHAKER 8, NISKAYUNA 1 >> Shaker improved to 13-5 with a big win over Niskayuna. Alissa Folts was 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Blue Bison.

Baseball

ALBANY ACADEMY 5, WATERVLIET 3 >> The Cadets scored four runs in the first two innings and held off Watervliet in a win on Friday afternoon. E.J. Birch was 3-for-3 with a triple. Albany Academy is now 12-3 on the season, while the Cannoneers dropped to 3-12 on the season. Joe Brown was 2-for-4 for Watervliet with a double. CBA 7, TROY 2 >> CBA scored six runs in the first three innings to pick up a win over Troy. CBA improved to 15-2 on the season, while Troy is now 10-9. Jason Rubilotta pitched five innings and struck out five batters. Davis Payne was 2-for-3 with two singles. BALLSTON SPA 7, AVERILL PARK 3 >> Ballston Spa came back to beat Averill Park. Gold hit a home run and drove in three runs as they improved to 11-4 on the season. Grady Gawrys pitched five innings and allowed three runs against the Class A foe.

College sports

ALBANY 7, HARTFORD 4 >> Albany baseball won the rubber game of their threegame series at Hartford on Saturday morning. The win improved the Great Danes to 8-12 in America East play. Jack McClure pitched four innings for the Great Danes as a starter. Ray Weber pitched 4.2 innings in relief. Albany has won 4-of-5 league games. SIENA 5, NIAGARA 3 >> Siena greatly improved its postseason hopes with a comeback win over Niagara. The win put the Saints in a tie for sixth place in the MAAC. With one weekend left, Siena needs a big series as Marist to qualify for the conference tournament. For the secondstra­ight week, Siena was down to its final out, and for the second straight week, Dan Swain came through to give the Saints the lead. ALBANY 8, MAINE 2 >> Albany softball will play for the America East title this weekend after starting off the weekend with three wins. If the weather permits on Saturday, Albany will need one win in two chances against Maine. If necessary, the game will be moved to Sunday. The tournament is taking place at Binghamton.
