Library honors veterans with Friday event

The Saratoga Springs Public Library, 49 Henry St., will be closed Saturday for Veterans Day, but the public is invited to attend the library’s celebratio­n of those who served, Knit Your Bit: Rememberin­g our Veterans, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Programs for preschoole­rs include Library Babies, 10:30 a.m. to noon Fridays, Nov. 10 and 17; Preschool Story/Music, 9:30-10 a.m. Monday and 2-2:30 p.m. Tuesday; Preschool Story/Art, 2-2:30 p.m. Friday; Parent/Child Workshop, 9:15-10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. to noon Monday; and Sharpen Your Signing Skills, 9:15-9:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17.

Programs for children and families continue with Bubble Wrap Rug, 6-6:45 p.m. Wednesday and Paws4Readi­ng with Quinn, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Teen programs for students in grades 7-12 include Cupcake Decorating Workshop, 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday; Anime Club, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday; Teen Trivia, 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday; Hang with Jake, the Golden Retriever, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday; and Teen Craft Night: Upcycled Jewelry, 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Programs for parents include Self-Determinat­ion: Helping Youth with Disabiliti­es Take Charge of Their Lives, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Programs for Adults include NaNoWriMo WriteIn, 6:30-8 p.m. Monday; Song Swap with Jeff Walton, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday; Guided Mindful Meditation, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday; Marie-Galante: The Emerald World Where Time Has Stopped, noon to 1 p.m. Thursday; Books and Tea, 3:30-4:45 p.m. Thursday; An Adirondack Portfolio with Bob Bayle: 1902-1935, noon to 1 p.m. Thursday; Books and Brews, 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
