GALWAY - Ruby Edith LaQue - LaNoue (nee: Dunakin), 89, passed peacefully on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2018. She was cared for by her loving daughter Jeannie and son-in-law Robert Forand since January 2017, they were by her side. Born to Charles and Edith (Pecor) Dunakin in Richmond, Vermont on August 14, 1928. Raised in Vermont, she met her loving husband, Eugene Lanoue. Together they began their family in Vermont, and made the move to Schenectad­y, NY where they completed their family with their third child. For several years, she worked at the Fuller Brush factory. In 1972, they moved to Glenville. Ruby was a dedicated mother, who took pride in her home. Ruby enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her spare time. She was a good cook, who often made French Tourtière pies; she and husband, Eugene would have pie competitio­ns to see who made it the best. She married Roy LaQue in1981. They enjoyed their years in retirement with many pool parties at their house, and being with good friends. They were members of the American Legion and Elk Clubs. Roy passed in 2006. Every year on Ruby’s birthday, her daughters would take her on a Lake George cruise, they would sip mimosas and take in the beautiful views together. She remarried Eugene in June 2006, they traveled to Cape Cod often. Ruby loved her grandchild­ren, and had a special bond with her dear Amanda. Predecease­d by her husbands. Survivors include her children, Jeannie Lanoue (Robert) Forand, Robert Lanoue and Maryann Alvaro; grandchild­ren, Amanda Banks, Jamie, April and Serena—Sam Lanoue, Darren and Jason Alvaro; great grandchild­ren, Brandon Jingle [USMC], Michael Johnson Jr., Simon Alvaro, Elyas Alvaro and Ameera Davis; sisters, Juanita Lacaillade from MA, and Carolyn (Tippy) Dunakin from Vermont. Friends and relatives are invited for a calling period at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., on Saturday, March 24th, from 11 to 12 PM. A funeral service will begin at noon, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to Community Hospice, 310 S. Manning Boulevard Albany, NY 12208.
