COLCHESTER, Vt. >> Saint Michael’s College men’s lacrosse senior Bobby Frank (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./ Saratoga Springs) earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, March 25. This is the first accolade of his career. Frank posted three goals, 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers during a 1-1 week, appearing on both the offensive and defensive sides of the midfield. Frank had a hat trick on four shots with five ground balls and two caused turnovers during a 12-3 win over Post University on Tuesday before collecting five more ground balls in a 12-4 loss to No. 7 Pace University on Saturday. The midfielder has matched a career high of five goals while scooping up 17 ground balls and causing four turnovers through six games. He is second on the team in ground balls and third in goals. The Purple Knights, who are 3-3 overall and 0-3 in the NE10, visit No. 6 Adelphi University at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers, whose ranking is according to the United States Intercolle­giate Lacrosse Associatio­n (USILA) national poll, have qualified for five of the last seven NCAA Tournament­s.

UALBANY MEN HOST HARVARD WEDNESDAY NIGHT

ALBANY, N.Y. >>The UAlbany men’s lacrosse team has returned to Casey Stadium for two games this week, beginning with a mid-week matchup against Harvard on Wednesday, March 28th at 7 p.m. UAlbany stands as the unanimous #1 in each the USILA Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media Poll, being #1 for the fifth consecutiv­e week. Harvard has joined the top20 in the media poll at #19, also receiving votes in the coaches poll. UAlbany remains as the lone undefeated team in Division I, coming off a 13-6 victory vs. UMass Lowell to stand 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the America East. Harvard has won six consecutiv­e games, the last a 10-8 home win over Dartmouth, to come into Wednesday at 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League. Playing six of the last seven years, UAlbany is 6-0 against Harvard, winning 15-13 in Cambridge last year. The last three contests have been decided by three or fewer goals, with UAlbany winning the trio by a combined six goals.

BASEBALL WILTON NATIVE MATT HAMEL SCORES IN SIENA ROAD LOSS

IONA 4, SIENA 2 >> Stephen Furman delivered the goahead two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning as Iona rallied past Siena Baseball 4-2 in the series finale at City Park. Despite the defeat, the Saints still took the MAAC opening series thanks to 15-2 and 3-2 victories Sunday. Junior center fielder Matt Hamel (Wilton/Christian Brothers Academy) went 0-for-3 in the contest, but turned his walk into a run for Siena. The Saints return to action Wednesday for a nonconfere­nce contest at Army West Point at 3 p.m. Saint Rose 9, Saint Anselm 4/St. Rose 4, St. Anselm3 >> The College of Saint Rose rallied from two down in the ninth and pushed across the winning run in the 11th inning to complete today’s doublehead­er sweep of Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Anselm at Pappas Field on the Franklin Pierce University campus. The Golden Knights won the opener 9-4 and took the finale 4-3. Sophomore second baseman Andrew Pedone (Clifton Park, Shenendeho­wa H.S.) went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, walking twice, stealing two bases and scoring for the Golden Knights. In the nightcap Pedone went 1-for-4 with another RBI double, a walk and a stolen base. Junior right fielder Alex Koshgarian (Cohoes/Cohoes H.S.) went 2-for-4 in the opener, walking once and scoring a run. Senior catcher Tom Moore (Burnt Hills/Burnt HillsBalls­ton Lake H.S.) went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Senior pitcher Alex Tomlinson (Averill Park/Averill Park H.S.) went two innings in the opener, giving up one hit and striking out two batters. In the nightcap, senior pitcher Dominic Razzano (Averill Park/LaSalle Institute) went two innings, giving up one unearned run. He walked three batters and struck out two in middle relief.
