To empower people, vote Larry Sharpe for NY gov.

-

The upcoming gubernatorial election is being billed as a fight between Democrat Andrew Cuomo and Republican Marc Molinaro with some outsiders trying to break in with Working Parties Family candidate Cynthia Nixon, Green Party Candidate Howie Hawkins and former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Minor running as an Independent. However, there is an extremely interesting candidate running who is getting little to no attention from the media in New York and that man is Larry Sharpe running on the Libertarian Party ticket.

Mr. Sharpe is a Marine Corp Veteran, Business Owner, Husband, Father and a Native New Yorker. Moreover, Mr. Sharpe is one of the most tireless campaigners I have ever witnessed running for election in New York State. Mr. Sharpe has held hundreds of events across New York, typically holding multiple events per day. The events are free to attend, open to the public and Mr. Sharpe openly takes questions on the various concerns facing those in attendance. Unlike many candidates, Mr. Sharpe gives you honest answers to your questions whether it is an answer you want to hear or not. He does not dance around the question without ever providing an answer like many of the politicians today. This straightforward honesty is extremely refreshing in today’s political campaign climate.

While I do not have time to dive into the details in this letter, Mr. Sharpe has concrete ideas on how to address issues such as Tax Reform, Criminal Justice System Reform, Second Amendment Rights, Family Law Reform, Drug Law Reform, Small Business Regulations, giving school districts more power to tailor curriculums to student needs and returning more power to the county and local level of government where the average citizens can have more influence on decisions. Mr. Sharpe’s ideas for government cross old political boundaries and I am positive that New York State citizens of varying political ideology can find solace in many of Mr. Sharpe’s plans for New York State.

Now many will read this and immediately dismiss this letter as Mr. Sharpe is running on a third-party ticket and therefore cannot win. This is the exact type of logic that has led us down a path where we feel forced to pick between one of two choices. In a world where we can choose between 60 different types of deodorant, how come we are limited to choosing between just two people to handle the important task of governing over us? It is time to put an end to this type of thinking and send the message to the political parties of New York State that if you do not put forth quality candidates then we will take our business to those parties that do put forth quality candidates.

I would encourage everyone to Google Larry Sharpe for New York and look deeper at Mr. Sharpe’s stances on the issues facing New York. If you like what you see, check out the events section and the next time Larry Sharpe rolls through your area (and he will) go and ask him any questions you might have. I can’t guarantee you will like all his answers, but you will get just that, an answer.

I will end this by saying I am no way affiliated with the Larry Shape Campaign. I am just an average New Yorker who is tired with the status quo of rising taxes, increased regulation and a deepening divide between citizens of the State on political ideology. It’s time to send the message that we need to rethink government and empower people. The best way to do that, in my opinion, is a vote for Larry Sharpe on November 6. Dan Nedwell Saratoga, NY.
