Walk for Epilepsy slated for Sept. 9
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York celebrates its 10th Anniversary Walk for Epilepsy on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Saratoga Spa State Park’s Columbia Pavilion.
Over the past nine years, the event has attracted over 4,500 walkers, raising $501,915.
The event features a walk in the park. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 11 a.m.

Registration fees are: $25 per person ($30 day of event); students $10; children 12 and under are free. Enjoy music and entertainment immediately following the walk, along with a lunch served by Fitzy’s Fork in the Road Food Truck. Epilepsy is defined as having two or more recurring seizures; it can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time. Epilepsy is more common than Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease combined, a news release said. The Epilepsy Foundation provides direct services for people with epilepsy and their families in 22 counties, including the Capital Region, North Country, and Upper Hudson Valley. These services include education and training of school personnel and students, public education and awareness, service coordination, advocacy, counseling, and first aid training.
