‘Toga grad, Skid­more’s Marissa Folts Al­lAmer­i­can

GIL­BERT, ARIZ. >> Se­nior de­fender Marissa Folts (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga High School) of the Skid­more Col­lege field hockey team earned her sec­ond Longstreth/Na­tional Field Hockey Coaches As­so­ci­a­tion (NFHCA) All-Amer­i­can nod, as the or­ga­ni­za­tion an­nounced its 48 hon­orees on Wed­nes­day, Dec. 5.

Folts was named to the third team for the sec­ond straight year, be­com­ing the 11th per­son to earn mul­ti­ple All-Amer­ica hon­ors in pro­gram his­tory. Folts led the team with four de­fen­sive saves, while also chip­ping in 15 points on four goals and a team-lead­ing seven as­sists. She served as the an­chor and cap­tain of the Skid­more de­fense, which tal­lied four shutouts this sea­son. The se­nior fin­ishes her Skid­more ca­reer with six goals and 16 as­sists for 28 points, while also con­tribut­ing 15 de­fen­sive saves in 80 con­tests.

Skid­more (8-11, 3-4 Lib­erty League) once again ad­vanced to the Lib­erty League Tour­na­ment this sea­son. The Thor­ough­breds have made ev­ery Lib­erty League Tour­na­ment since its in­cep­tion in 2004.
