Saratoga Springs, NY - Carol Parmatier Leone passed away Fri­day (Jan. 11, 2019) at Mary’s Haven, fol­low­ing a long bat­tle with cancer, sur­rounded by fam­ily and friends. She was 70. Born on Dec. 12, 1948 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daugh­ter of the late Arthur J. and Mary (Kuon) Parmatier and was a life­long res­i­dent. A 1966 grad­u­ate of Saratoga Springs High School, she en­joyed nu­mer­ous hob­bies, which in­cluded gar­den­ing and cook­ing. Carol was an avid Saratoga race track at­tendee and a diehard NY Yan­kees base­ball fan. Her many years of em­ploy­ment in­cluded var­i­ous venues in Saratoga Springs. A mem­ber of the Ladies of Char­ity Saratoga Vi­cari­ate, she was a mem­ber and for­mer sec­re­tary of Dominick-Smal­done Post 35 ITAM Ladies Aux­il­iary. A daily com­mu­ni­cant of the Church of St. Peter, she vol­un­teered in nu­mer­ous po­si­tions. Carol faith­fully served as a Eucharis­tic Min­is­ter, Mass and wed­ding co­or­di­na­tor, was a mem­ber of the par­ish be­reave­ment group and cur­rently serv­ing on the pas­toral coun­cil. In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Michael “Mickey” Leone, Jr., who died April 11, 2010; her un­cle Ed Kuon; an aunt, Kathryn LaTour and her fa­ther-in-law, Michael Leone, Sr. Sur­vivors in­clude her brother-in-law and sis­ter-in­law, Gary and Theresa Leone, who were her pri­mary care­givers; her mother-in-law, Mil­dred Leone; sev­eral brothers-in-law and sis­ters-in-law, nieces, neph­ews, cousins and many dear friends. She is also sur­vived by her close and spe­cial lit­tle friend, McKenna Rose Cook. Rel­a­tives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Tues­day (Jan. 15, 2019) at the Wil­liam J. Burke & Sons/Buss­ing and Cun­niff Fu­neral Homes, 628 North Broad­way 518-584-5373. A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated at 10am Wed­nes­day (Jan. 16) in the his­toric Church of St. Peter, 241 Broad­way. In­urn­ment will be at 11:30am at the Ger­ald Solomon Saratoga Na­tional Ceme­tery. The fam­ily would like to ac­knowl­edge the kind­ness shown by the staff at Saratoga Hos­pi­tal’s unit D-2 and ev­ery­one at Mary’s Haven.
