Train­ing pro­gram of­fered for Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> The Wes­ley Com­mu­nity re­cently an­nounced its li­censed home care ser­vice agency Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions will of­fer po­ten­tial job can­di­dates the op­por­tu­nity to ob­tain their New York State Home Health Aide Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion through a new train­ing pro­gram of­fered on its Saratoga Springs cam­pus.

Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions is cur­rently hir­ing part-time and per diem staff to serve clients in Saratoga, War­ren and Sch­enec­tady coun­ties.

As a Home Health Aide, in­di­vid­u­als will have the op­por­tu­nity to make a dif­fer­ence in the daily lives of se­niors who need per­sonal care ser­vices and daily as­sis­tance to im­prove or main­tain their qual­ity of life. Suc­cess­ful can­di­dates will be able to de­velop mean­ing­ful and long-term re­la­tion­ships with each client while also strength­en­ing their skills with a va­ri­ety of on-the­job ex­pe­ri­ences.

Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions is cur­rently seek­ing qual­i­fied can­di­dates to par­tic­i­pate in the new cer­ti­fied HHA train­ing pro­gram and is ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for the first train­ing class, which will be­gin on July 29.

Upon suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion, can­di­dates will be of­fered a part-time or per diem em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­nity de­pend­ing on cur­rent case avail­abil­ity at Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions.

“Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions is look­ing for ded­i­cated and com­pas­sion­ate can­di­dates to work with se­niors who need health care ser­vices but wish to re­main in the com­fort of their own home,” Wes­ley se­nior so­lu­tions di­rec­tor Sharon O’Sullivan said in a press re­lease. “Our new home health aide train­ing pro­gram is the ideal op­por­tu­nity for any in­di­vid­ual look­ing to make the tran­si­tion into the health­care pro­fes­sion. Not only will each can­di­date re­ceive com­pre­hen­sive train­ing and state cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, but they will also be re­warded with im­me­di­ate em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties and com­pre­hen­sive ben­e­fits, for those who qual­ify, while help­ing the nu­mer­ous se­niors cur­rently uti­liz­ing our ser­vices in the com­mu­nity.”

The paid train­ing class, which con­sists of both class­room and clin­i­cal hours, will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 29 through Au­gust 13. Ap­pli­cants must at­tend all 12 days of train­ing.

Cer­ti­fied home health aides help clients with a va­ri­ety of needs in­clud­ing: as­sis­tance with per­sonal hy­giene and skin care; us­ing durable med­i­cal equip­ment such as walk­ing de­vices; record­ing weight and vi­tal signs as needed; pro­vide med­i­ca­tion re­minders; and as­sist­ing each client with light house­keep­ing, er­rands and mis­cel­la­neous house­hold du­ties.

Wes­ley Se­nior So­lu­tions of­fers a wide ar­ray of com­pre­hen­sive home health care ser­vices to meet the needs of in­di­vid­u­als on a 24-hour ba­sis, with ser­vices pro­vided to Saratoga, War­ren and Sch­enec­tady coun­ties.

All clients re­ceive a cus­tom­ized plan of care de­signed to meet their in­di­vid­ual needs fol­low­ing a pro­fes­sional in-home nurs­ing as­sess­ment. Both lon­gand short-term care op­tions are avail­able.

All can­di­dates in­ter­ested in ap­ply­ing for the po­si­tion must have a high school or GED equiv­a­lent diploma and be at least 18 years of age. Those in­ter­ested must have a valid driver’s li­cense, in­sur­ance and also have re­li­able trans­porta­tion to get to and from clients homes and oc­ca­sion­ally trans­port clients to ap­point­ments or out­ings.
