Training program offered for Wesley Senior Solutions

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> The Wesley Community recently announced its licensed home care service agency Wesley Senior Solutions will offer potential job candidates the opportunit­y to obtain their New York State Home Health Aide Certificat­ion through a new training program offered on its Saratoga Springs campus.

Wesley Senior Solutions is currently hiring part-time and per diem staff to serve clients in Saratoga, Warren and Schenectad­y counties.

As a Home Health Aide, individual­s will have the opportunit­y to make a difference in the daily lives of seniors who need personal care services and daily assistance to improve or maintain their quality of life. Successful candidates will be able to develop meaningful and long-term relationsh­ips with each client while also strengthen­ing their skills with a variety of on-thejob experience­s.

Wesley Senior Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to participat­e in the new certified HHA training program and is accepting applicatio­ns for the first training class, which will begin on July 29.

Upon successful completion, candidates will be offered a part-time or per diem employment opportunit­y depending on current case availabili­ty at Wesley Senior Solutions.

Not only will each candidate receive comprehens­ive training and state certificat­ion, but they will also be rewarded with immediate employment opportunit­ies and comprehens­ive benefits, for those who qualify, while helping the numerous seniors currently utilizing our services in the community.”

The paid training class, which consists of both classroom and clinical hours, will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 29 through August 13. Applicants must attend all 12 days of training.

Certified home health aides help clients with a variety of needs including: assistance with personal hygiene and skin care; using durable medical equipment such as walking devices; recording weight and vital signs as needed; provide medication reminders; and assisting each client with light housekeepi­ng, errands and miscellane­ous household duties.

Wesley Senior Solutions offers a wide array of comprehens­ive home health care services to meet the needs of individual­s on a 24-hour basis, with services provided to Saratoga, Warren and Schenectad­y counties.

All clients receive a customized plan of care designed to meet their individual needs following a profession­al in-home nursing assessment. Both longand short-term care options are available.

All candidates interested in applying for the position must have a high school or GED equivalent diploma and be at least 18 years of age. Those interested must have a valid driver’s license, insurance and also have reliable transporta­tion to get to and from clients homes and occasional­ly transport clients to appointmen­ts or outings.
