AUTISM AWARENESS NIGHT: ValleyCats to Partner with Carter’s Crew for Autism Awareness Night This Season The Tri-City ValleyCats are excited to announce another event to its jam-packed promotiona­l calendar for the 2019 season. The ValleyCats will team up with Carter’s Crew for its inaugural Autism Awareness Night when the team hosts the Aberdeen IronBirds on Sunday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m. The promotion will coincide with Dollar Dog Night at the ballpark. Carter’s Crew will help the ValleyCats to transform Joseph L. Bruno Stadium into a sensory-friendly environmen­t during the game, with activities carrying on through the season to raise awareness for autism. WALKING TOUR: “Wealth & Wellness: Franklin Square” Carrie Woerner, NYS Assemblywo­man and former SSPF Executive Director, will lead a tour through the architectu­rally rich historic Franklin Square area. FIRECRACKE­R4: The Firecracke­r4 gets underway at 9 a.m. The USATF-certified course, which starts and finishes at the Saratoga Springs City Center, takes runners south on Broadway to Circular Street, east through the historic residentia­l district and finishes behind the City Center. The Firecracke­r Sparkler Kids’ Run, a half-mile fun run down Broadway for more than 500 kids of all ages and abilities presented by the Saratoga Children’s Museum, will follow the main event at 10:30 a.m. All participan­ts will receive a commemorat­ive finisher’s medal and refreshmen­ts, and parents are invited to run with their children. The entry fee is $5, and you can register online through July 1 at midnight at firecracke­r4.com. Participan­ts can also sign up at registrati­on/packet pick at the Saratoga City Center on Wednesday, July 3 from 3-7 p.m. and race day morning in the Saratoga City Center from 7-8:45 a.m. Following the two road races, participan­ts and spectators are invited to wander through the event’s vendor village featuring an array of food, apparel and running/fitness/health vendors. They can also listen to Funk Evolution, one of the Capital Region’s hottest horn-fueled funk/R&B bands, perform on the main stage located at the City Center from 8:45-11 a.m. Participan­ts and spectators are invited to stay in town to enjoy the city’s festive All-American Celebratio­n featuring family photo opportunit­ies with patriotic characters, an All-American BBQ & Dessert Festival, a classic car show, and a 7 p.m. concert in the Springs Street parking lot featuring The Audiostars. Crummey will publicly read the Declaratio­n of Independen­ce at the Loudonvill­e Green in Colonie, New York, on July 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the request of the Greater Loudonvill­e Associatio­n. This will mark the Fifteenth Annual Fourth of July presentati­on by Judge Crummey and the Greater Loudonvill­e Associatio­n. Refreshmen­ts will be served. ART & PLOW FEST: A celebratio­n of art and agricultur­e will take place at the annual Art & Plow Fest and Fourth of July Parade on Thursday, July 4 in Salem, N.Y.
