Ball­ston Spa man charged with crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty

DUANESBURG, N.Y. >> A Ball­ston Spa Man was ar­rested on mul­ti­ple drug pos­ses­sion charges and for flee­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer in a stolen ve­hi­cle.

Todd Dun­can was ar­rested by New York State Po­lice who were dis­patched to a call in Duanesburg to check on the wel­fare of a male sub­ject who made com­ments to oth­ers that he may harm him­self. Po­lice said upon their ar­rival at the res­i­dence, Dun­can, was lo­cated sit­ting in the front driver seat of a red Toy­ota Prius in the drive­way.

Af­ter fail­ing to com­ply with ver­bal in­struc­tions, Dun­can fled the drive­way, lead­ing troop­ers on a short pur­suit on Mari­av­ille Road. Dun­can drove off the road­way and was taken into cus­tody by po­lice.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed that the ve­hi­cle Dun­can was driv­ing was re­ported stolen on Nov. 3 to the Town of Glenville Po­lice Depart­ment. Af­ter be­ing taken into cus­tody, Dun­can was found to pos­sess ap­prox­i­mately 2 grams of crack co­caine as well as other drug para­pher­na­lia.

Dun­can was charged with crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance fourth de­gree, and crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty third de­gree, both felonies, crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance sev­enth de­gree, and un­law­ful flee­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer in a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, both mis­de­meanors.

He was ar­raigned in the Town of Rot­ter­dam court and re­manded to Sch­enec­tady County Jail on $40,000 cash or $80,000 bail bond.
