CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. >> The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce will make its presence in the community known later this month with a tabletop information fair for nonprofits at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library.

The organization has long been headquartered in Saratoga Springs but last month opened a satellite office for the southern Saratoga County community. This will be the organization’s first official event in the southern part of the county since opening its doors on Emma Lane.

The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce is a membership-based organization that serves communities from the Twin Bridges to the Town of Day. With offices in Saratoga Springs and now Clifton Park it promotes a strong local community by offering advocacy, programs, tourism, and community development.

Nonprofits, like private businesses, tend to join several Chambers of Commerce as a way to widen their support network and get their name better known. The Saratoga County Chamber has a number of members based in the southern Saratoga County area and wants to assist them with the latter.

“This is our first time in southern Saratoga County,” said Liz Roggenbuck, Saratoga County Chamber’s Vice President for Benefits and Programs in southern Saratoga County. “We have a wealth of nonprofits who are members and it’s our desire to provide the community with an awareness of them and connect the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce to the public.”

The Tabletop Nonprofit Information Fair will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library, 475 Moe Road, Clifton Park. Nonprofits that would like to participate in the Fair are asked to register with Roggenbuck but walkups are welcome too.

“We’re the catalyst,” she said. “We want to get them exposed to the public so the public can see what they offer. This event is due to opening our new office in Clifton Park and with it, the expansion of events in southern Saratoga County.”

The Nonprofit Fair, which is open to the community and free to attend, will feature more than 25 organizations that are members of the Saratoga County Chamber.

Some of the organizations that will have information tables at the event include; CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Mechanicville Area Community Services Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Clifton Park Halfmoon Emergency Corps, Northeastern Association of the Blind, The Regional Food Bank, Angel Names Association, Saratoga Bridges, Wellspring, and the American Cancer Society.

The nonprofits are hoping to connect with community members, showcase the valuable services they provide, and emphasize the many rewarding volunteer opportunities available.

“The Saratoga County Chamber is proud to highlight our valued nonprofit organizations doing such

important work in our community and to provide the ideal location to connect volunteer minded individuals with the dedicated representatives of all the great organizations that will be present at the Nonprofit Information Fair,” said Todd Shimkus, President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. “We are delighted to partner with the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library on this event and hope to hold similar events at the library in the future.

“With our new chamber office now open in Clifton Park we look forward to bringing more valuable business and community programming and events to southern Saratoga.”
