EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE CONCERT: The November 17 concert of the Saratoga Chamber Players will focus on music that embraces life and the European experience with the folk melodies of Zoltán Kodály and Antonin Dvorák and the deeply passionate renderings of Robert Schumann. Jill Levy violin; Judith Nelson, viola; Zela Terry, cello; and Gili Melamed-Lev, piano, will perform Kodály’s Intermezzo­n for violin, viola and cello; Dvorák’s Piano Trio in Bb Major, B.51, Op.21; and Schumann’s Piano Quartet in Eb Major, Op.47. The program at the Saratoga United Methodist Church , 175 Fifth Avenue, will start at 3 pm followed by a meet-the-musicians reception during which there will be a drawing for the signed silk screen of Henri Plisson. The lucky winner will join such luminaries as Gene Kelly, Rock Hudson, Katherine Ross and Aaron Spelling as owner of a Plisson work. VETERANS THEMED BREAKFAST: The Brotherhoo­d of Congregati­on Gates of Heaven will have their next monthly Breakfast-and-A-Speaker Program on Sunday, November 17. It will be a Veteran’s Day theme with guest speaker Dr. Jack Gold, whose topic will be My 1970 Vietnam Experience: Memories in the Medical Corps. The breakfast is held at the temple located at 852 Ashmore Avenue in Schenectad­y and begins at 10:00 a.m. The fee for breakfast is $5 for non-CGOH Brotherhoo­d members. The presentati­on begins at 10:30 a.m., and is free. This event is open to the public and no reservatio­ns are needed.

YOGURT SOAP: Yogurt Soap with Christine Eberhardt. Sunday November 17 1⁄2 day. 1pm-4:30pm. Tuition $55. Member Tuition $45. Materials fee $20. In this class we will be making a cold processed soap with yogurt. Yogurt is as healthy on your skin as it is in your stomach. Adding it to soap will help smooth and quench dry skin and keep it glowing and nourished. Yogurt soaps are made with full fat yogurt to reap those benefits. Yogurt also has antibacter­ial properties.
