HALFMOON, N.Y. >> Local developer The Rosenblum Companies is expanding north with the opening of its first project in Saratoga County.
Following successful endeavors in Albany and Rensselaer counties, the Albany-based real estate developer recently opened a new $9 million ValuSpace Personal Storage facility at 1607 U.S. Rt. 9 in Halfmoon, between the Walmart Supercenter and the intersection of Route 9 and Halfmoon Crossing.
This project is the third Capital Region self-storage location by The Rosenblum Companies, which launched ValuSpace Personal Storage in 2016. Its other locations are in Brunswick and Albany.

In each of its sites, ValuSpace aims to combine easily accessible retail locations with an emphasis on inperson customer service to provide a Class A self-storage experience at a competitive price.
Elected officials, business leaders and community members joined The Rosenblum Companies to celebrate the grand opening of the Halfmoon facility on Thursday at an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday with The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County.
Though the project is large, “For us it’s never really about being the biggest, it truly is about making sure that our projects do actually have a positive and long term impact,” said Jeff Mirel, executive vice president of The Rosenblum Companies, during the ceremony.
“We’re really thrilled to be able to increase our footprint of better spaces and our high standards of property management to Saratoga County by utilizing what was effectively an underdeveloped property previously, and providing needed infrastructure that supports one of the fastestgrowing towns in the fastest-growing county in the state of New York,” Mirel continued.
“ValuSpace has been very successful for us in Troy and Albany, and storage is a local product. It’s the local community that uses it, and it’s important to us to locate near where our customers are, so the demographics of Halfmoon and the retail that’s nearby, the population that’s nearby attracted us to this area,” The Rosenblum Companies CEO Seth Rosenblum said, explaining why the company decided to expand to Saratoga County with ValuSpace.
Local officials including Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Chair and Halfmoon Supervisor Kevin Tollisen, New York State Senator Daphne Jordan, New York State Assemblymember Mary Beth Walsh, Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership president Marty Vanags, Town of Halfmoon building, planning and development coordinator Rich Harris and Chamber of Southern Saratoga County president Pete Bardunias all welcomed The Rosenblum Companies and ValuSpace to the area, congratulating the company on its latest expansion.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, The Rosenblum Companies gave back to the local community by presenting a $1,000 check for VFW Post 1498, which is located next to ValuSpace Halfmoon, to Commander Dave Brinkmoeller.
Along with ValuSpace Personal Storage, The Rosenblum Companies’ diversified commercial real estate portfolio currently encompasses more than 1.2 million square feet of office, industrial, retail and urban mixed-use properties including the $24 million adaptive renovation of the century-old Troy Record building, now known as The News Apartments in downtown Troy.
Storage Asset Management, Inc. (SAM), a fullservice self-storage property management and consulting company, oversees daily operations at ValuSpace Halfmoon, as well as Rosenblum’s two other facilities, ValuSpace Troy and ValuSpace Albany.
