Suspect located in alleged hit-and-run fatality
NORTHAMPTON, N.Y. >> New York State Police in Mayfield arrested a Northville man on multiple charges after he was alleged to have left the scene of a fatal hitand-run accident in the town.
Police said at approximately 7:04 a.m. on Nov. 17, a passerby located Andria M. Berger, 46, of Broadalbin deceased off the roadway of state Route 30 in the area of Sacandaga Outdoor Equipment.
An autopsy conducted at Albany Medical Center later determined Berger died as a result of multiple blunt force trauma. An on-scene investigation determined Berger was struck by a red pickup truck that had left the scene of the collision.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, Derrick H. Carlisle, 44, of Northville was located by Point Township Police Department as he traveled on a roadway in Point Township Pennsylvania.
At the time he was stopped, he was operating a red 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, which had damage consistent with the accident, police said.
Carlisle is currently in the custody of the Point Township Police Department and is facing charges in their jurisdiction for receiving stolen property, and firearms not to be carried without a license, both felonies.
The New York State Police expressed their thanks to the public for their assistance as well as local law enforcement from Fulton and Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania State Police, and Point Township Police Department.
