State troopers find crack cocaine during traffic stop
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. >> An early morning traffic stop by State Police led to arrests of two men on felony drug possession charges.
Luciann Homer, 38, of the Bronx, and Carlos J. Reyes, 42, of Brooklyn were stopped at 3:26 a.m. on Nov. 9 on state Route 149, after police said the driver, Reyes, committed a traffic infraction.
When police approached the vehicle, Reyes was observed attempting to hide a glass pipe containing cocaine residue. A search of Reyes, Homer, and the vehicle yielded just under 3 ounces of crack cocaine, a pill bottle containing oxycodone and Darvocet, glassine envelopes containing heroin, Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia.
Homer was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree, misdemeanors.
Reyes was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance third 3rd degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance fifth degree, both felonies, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree, all misdemeanors.
Holmer and Reyes were transported to State Police in Queensbury for processing after which they were arraigned in Warren County Centralized Arraignment.
Homer was remanded to Warren County Jail in lieu of $1,250 cash or $2,500 bond. Reyes was remanded to Warren County Jail on $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond. Both are due back in court at a later date.
