MALTA, N.Y. >> State Police in Saratoga arrested Edward Boruta, 45, of Round Lake and charged him with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment.

Troopers responded to a residence in Malta after they received a 911 call for a domestic dispute. Investigation at the scene revealed that Boruta had entered into a physical altercation with the victim during which he struck them and refused to let them leave, according to State Police.

Troopers said Boruta was also in violation of an active order of protection.

Boruta was taken into custody and transported to State Police barracks in Saratoga for processing.

He was arraigned in Ballston Spa Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail on $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. He is due back in court at a later date.
