BURNT HILLS, N.Y. >> At a ribbon cutting ceremony, local business owner Brenda Soucy celebrated the opening of her second custom framing store.

Truly Yours Custom Framing is the second framing store that Soucy owns with her husband Kevin. The first one, Country Outlet Framing, has been open since 2000 and is located on route 20 west of Duanesburg.

After more than a decade of working as an accountant, Soucy was longing for change in order to find more balance between work and home, to have the opportunity to be creative, and to actively engage with people. She knew though working with her husband that helping people preserve their cherished memories, photos, achievements and beautiful artwork was something she found very rewarding.

She decided to branch out the business and open a new frame shop in a busier area.

Truly Yours is truly a family business. Not only does Soucy co-own it with her husband, but she will be assisted in running the shop by her daughter Madison.

“I’ve been helping Dad for as long as I can remember,” Madison said. “I’m the only kid that took up the family business. Helping Mom will be fun.”

Soucy received 2 citations for the new store, one from Senator James Tedisco and one from Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh. Also at the ribbon cutting was Saratoga Chamber representative Kristen Cargill, who emceed the ceremony.

“It’s really wonderful to see small businesses alive and kicking and growing,”

Cargill said. “You really are the glue that holds the community together.”

Cargill was so pleased with the new store that she even got some Christmas shopping done before leaving.

Truly Yours offers full-service custom framing for any art or project. The store’s focus is custom framing, and no job is too big or too small. It doesn’t have to be flat art, either.

“We can frame jerseys, medals - anything,” said Soucy. “We even have shadow boxes for trophies and other keepsakes.”

The store also sells many

signs and ready-made prints that can be ordered in a variety of sizes and frame styles. Some of the prints for sale are by local artists.

“I would love to have more of those in the store,” commented Soucy. “I would love to have locals artists showcased on the walls in here.”

Soucy would like to encourage local artists to reach out to her to discuss opportunities for showcasing their artwork at her store.

Truly Yours Custom Framing is located at 714 Saratoga Road (aka Route 50) in Burnt Hills. It is open on Tues. and Wed. from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Thurs.-Sat. from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
