Bucciero’s Pizzeria has been officially welcomed into Stillwater. The family-owned business had a ribbon-cutting this week with many town, state, and county representatives present.

The pizzeria, owned by Dominic Bucciero and managed by his son Joey, has been in business for about two months. They first opened their doors in October. In that short time, they have already gained a reputation for having great pizza.

More than that, they’ve also gained a reputation for something else - hospitality and an emphasis on community support.

During the blizzard last week, Bucciero’s opened its doors to all of the plow drivers working to clear the streets, inviting them in for coffee and pizza slices.

“We love these guys. They’re so welcoming and they’re a pleasure to have in the neighborhood,” said Stillwater Mayor Judy Woodshaw at the pizzeria’s ribbon cutting.

“I can’t overstate how important it is to have local businesses,” added Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner. “You are the fabric of the community.”

Saratoga County Chamber President Pete Bardunias was also glad to welcome the Bucciero family

to the neighborhood.

“This is our first opportunity to do a ribbon cutting with the current regime,” he remarked, referring to the impending merge of several regional chambers of commerce to create the Capital Region Chamber.

Officials said this coming together of many chambers to act as one unified entity will allow stronger support for more small businesses across the capital region. It will help to increase the visibility of small companies, especially newer ones, and hopefully, boost business, through awareness and support outside of town and county lines, according to chamber officials.

Dominic and Joey accepted citations from Woerner, a representative of Senator Daphne Jordan, and a representative of Congress. Then they cut the ribbon just outside the doors to the shop, taking advantage of the day’s warmer temperature. After the cutting, everyone was invited back inside for pizza.

The Bucciero family is happy to be in Stillwater.

“It’s fantastic. We’ve got great support from the whole village,” said Dominic.

Though Stillwater and Saratoga County have done great things to support the family, Dominic emphasized that there were two people who are key to the pizzeria’s success.

“My mom and my wife,” he said. “They’re my biggest supporters. I couldn’t have done this without them.”

Bucciero’s Pizzeria is located at 739 Hudson Ave. in Stillwater. They are open six days a week (closed on Tuesdays) and have a full menu available. Delivery is available within a tenmile radius of the store.
