Wo­man charged with DWI fol­low­ing crash

STILLWATER, N.Y. >> A Stillwater wo­man was ar­rested and charged with driv­ing while in­tox­i­cated.

Teresa M. Branahl, 48, had been trav­el­ing west­bound on Stillwater Bridge Road, in the Town of Schaghti­coke shortly be­fore 7 p.m. on Dec. 29 when police said she crossed into on­com­ing traf­fic and struck a ve­hi­cle headed east.

State Police re­spond­ing to the ac­ci­dent in­ter­viewed Branahl and said she dis­played signs of in­tox­i­ca­tion. She was ad­min­is­tered and failed the Stan­dard­ized Field So­bri­ety Tests and was sub­se­quently taken into cus­tody for driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol.

Branahl was trans­ported to State Police in Brunswick, where her blood al­co­hol tested at .25 per­cent. She was ar­raigned in Schaghti­coke Town Court and re­leased to the su­per­vi­sion of Rens­se­laer County Pro­ba­tion.
