GEARING UP FOR CAMP
Thousands attend weekend RV show at Saratoga Springs City Center
Lots of local folks spent the first weekend of 2020 dreaming about camping season while shopping around the Alpin Haus RV Show & Sale.
Thousands of attendees came to browse and buy RVs at the free event, which ran from Friday through Sunday at the Saratoga Springs City Center in downtown Saratoga Springs.
More than 50 RVs of all different styles and sizes were displayed inside the city center, an ideal location for a wintertime show.
Guests were welcome to explore each of the RVs and chat with factory representatives about their features.
For many eventgoers, the January show was the first chance to see some of the newest RV models out on the market. “We’re introducing a lot of new models for the first time that people have never seen,” said Alpin Haus General Sales Manager Jonathan Baker.
One of the hottest attractions at the show this year was the Solitude RV, a Grand Design RV product that’s one of the most spacious models available.
The Alpin Haus RV Show & Sale is a more than 20-year tradition, and it’s always a big event. “We’ve got over 50 RVs inside and we have thousands of people coming through this weekend, checking out the big sale, great show incentives,” Baker said. “A lot of people are taking advantage of them, which is awesome. So we’ve added a lot of people to the Alpin Haus family.”
Each year the event gets attendees excited about camping. “There’s a lot of people that want to be ready to go camping, and this gives them the opportunity to get their new camper before the season starts, so they’re ready to go,” Baker said, noting that moneysaving factory incentives available at the show give shoppers a good reason
to buy their camper early in the year.
Alpin Haus employee Jim Murphy, who was enjoying the show atmosphere over the weekend, insists that he and the rest of the team are not just selling campers -”We’re selling fun,” he said.
Local mom Cassie Healy, of Saratoga Springs, was at the show on Sunday morning seeking out a new camper for her growing family. “We’re looking forward to having a nice comfy space this year,” she said while browsing the show for their first RV. An Australian native, Healy isn’t familiar with many of the American RV brands, so she thought the Alpin Haus RV Show & Sale would be a good opportunity to have a look at a wide variety of campers.
