Opening ushers in new type of office environment
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >>
A new type of office environment is now available in the Spa City with the opening of The Worker’s Club.
Located in a historic building at 3 Franklin Square in Saratoga Springs, The Worker’s Club is coworking and event space that features 11 private offices, a swanky library, open and reserved seating, a full kitchen, a private conference room and a lounge.
By providing commercial office space in the city’s downtown district, The Worker’s Club aims to offer its clients a coveted location in the center of Saratoga Springs with a long list of amenities including fast and secure fiber internet, concierge service, monitors and HDMI cables, free use of a conference room, a kitchen with a refrigerator, complimentary tea and coffee.
Clients can reserve a specific spot at The Worker’s Club for a certain time period, or sign up for a monthly or yearly membership and enjoy access to the space at any time. Day passes are also available.
In this new endeavor, founder Monika LaPlante wants to facilitate a community of professionals and help build and connect the tech scene in Saratoga Springs.
Originally from Lake George, LaPlante’s professional background is in environmental science, with a masters in computer science and a second masters in biology. She works remotely as a data manager at an environmental nonprofit based in Florida.
"Everybody really likes it, so that’s been really nice . ... It’s really all over the place. It’s been cool having a bunch of different people in here doing different things."

Upon moving back upstate after living in New York City, LaPlante found she was craving a modern and comfortable communal working environment. “I wanted to create a space that I would feel comfortable in, and that people like me would want to be here as well.”
After sitting with the idea for a few years, LaPlante decided it was time to make it happen.
Since opening in November, the response from the community has been super positive, LaPlante said of her first entrepreneurial endeavor. “Everybody really likes it, so that’s been really nice.”
So far, The Worker’s Club has served a workspace for professionals in fields such as law, insurance, technology and more.
“It’s really all over the place,” LaPlante said, noting that the business has welcomed lots of entrepreneurs. “It’s been cool having a bunch of different people in here doing different things.”
The Worker’s Club can also host classes, seminars, photoshoots and other events.
“The space is really versatile,” LaPlante said, sharing that she didn’t even realize all of the space’s potential uses until she started receiving requests. “That’s been really neat.”
Looking ahead, LaPlante’s goal for the future of
The Worker’s Club is to grow it into a really active, collaborative work environment, she said. “I want everybody to come to this space wanting to connect with other people.”
