Ball Corporation donates to Salvation Army
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Local company, the Ball Corporation, made a $5,000 donation to The Salvation Army recently to assist in their COVID-19 relief efforts.
“Ball Corporation believes supporting the communities where we operate is part of who we are and it is one of our sustainability pillars,” said Andrea Miele, Human Resources Manager for the Ball Corporation in Saratoga Springs. “As we see our society face the hardships imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to provide our employees with the opportunity to help others in our local communities by directing local giving to help those in need.”
Miele continued, “The Salvation Army of Saratoga Springs was one of the first organizations that was suggested by our team members because of the great work they are doing and the number of local people who could be impacted by the donation.”
Although The Salvation Army is the nation’s largest social services organization with more than 7,600 service locations across the country, all fundraising efforts are the responsibility of the local unit.
“Every dollar that is given in Saratoga County, stays in Saratoga County,” said Lieutenant Bree Barker, Co-Commanding Officer.
The Ball Corporation joins other groups and individuals who have Donated For Good, including the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Springs Lions, in The Salvation Army’s local “Fill The Gap” campaign, which has raised over $9,000 to date.
