Friday, May 29 FISH FRY FUNDRAISER:

The next Saratoga Knights of Columbus #246 event will be held on Friday, May 29th and will be a Takeout Fish Fry Fundraiser. Please note that there will be no Takeout Dinners being offered on Friday, May 22nd. Call-in hours to 518-584-8547 will be on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00-3:00, and pick-ups will begin at 4:30. If you would prefer to have your meal delivered to your car, you can call from the parking lot upon arrival, give a descriptio­n of your car, and ask that it be brought out to you, though you are also welcome to come inside for pick-up. Just look for the pink sign on the front door indicating where to enter. Available will be Fried or Baked Haddock or Fried Clam Strips, each with French Fries, Cole Slaw, Tartar Sauce, and Cocktail Sauce, for $12.00, or the Shrimp Salad Special, which comes with two toasted rolls with Shrimp Salad, French Fries, and Cole Slaw, for $10.00. When calling, please ask about other items for purchase or substituti­on. Whatever you choose, the servings are always substantia­l, and all food is cookedto-order. Saturday, May 30 GRAVESITE CEREMONY:

Approx. 11:00 am on Saturday, May 30. A small formation from The Sons of Union

Veterans Camp Willard will hold their annual ceremony at the General Thomas and the Willard Gravesites. Oakwood Cemetery will broadcast several live Memorial Day activities on its Facebook page to continue its long tradition of honoring members of the military. These events are not open to the public and invited attendees will follow strict Covid-19 protocols as identified by New York State and the Centers for Disease Control.

CANDIDATE FORUM: The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County has scheduled a Candidate Forum for the Saratoga Springs City School District Board of Education. This virtual event will be held on Monday, June 1, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Webex. Log-in will be available at saratogasc­hools.org with the ability to sign in as an attendee. The forum will begin after the school budget presentati­on. Questions for the candidates must be sent in advance to vslwvsc@gmail. com by May 27. VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER: To Life! will host “A Toast To Life! Serving with Gratitude” as a virtual event on June 2, 2020. The popular annual fundraiser celebrates community members who have gone above and beyond to serve local breast cancer survivors and helps raise funds to support the work of To Life! in the Greater Capital Region. This year’s honorees are two accomplish­ed women: Dr. Karen Tedesco, New York Oncology Hematology, Extra Mile Award and Catherine W. Black, longtime member of the To Life! Board of Directors, You’re An Angel Award. Camille Delongis will serve as the evening host. As a local resource, To Life! provides services to women and families dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis. This work is not possible without community support. We fully understand the impact this will have on our community as we are aware the balloon festival serves as most of the communitie­s largest fundraiser of the year. Not that we are not hopeful the state of New York and our country will be back up and running by June, our very generous sponsors will not be in a position to support us this year as their businesses have suffered. We have said many times in the past, sponsors are what makes this happen and we cannot do it without them!
