VIRTUAL WILDLIFE FESTIVAL: Due to social distancing requiremen­ts, instead of a one-day Wildlife Festival on Sunday, May, 31st, Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will be hosting a Wildlife Week. Each day through June 6th, the Wilton Preserve will premiere a short video or host a live event that is based on the in-person events that would have taken place at the annual festival at Camp Saratoga. These will premiere daily at 10:00 am on the Wilton Preserve’s Facebook page and the videos will be posted to its YouTube channel. The Festival Week will kick-off with a Facebook Live Turtle Discovery Program at 10 a.m. on May 31, followed by a Karner Blue Butterfly Walk via Video on Monday, June 1; a Video Nature Craft at Home on Tuesday, June 2; “Who Will Roar if I Go?” Online Storybook Reading on Wednesday, June 3; a Video Exploratio­n and History of the Historic Cornell Hill Fire Tower on Thursday, June 4; Aquatic Freshwater Wildlife Exploratio­n Video from Delegan Pond on Friday, June 5; and a National Trails Day Trail Highlight Video on Saturday, June 6. PLANT SALE: Pitney Meadows Community Farm plant sale weekends begin May 16 and 17, from 12 to 4 p.m., and continue Saturday and Sunday through the end of the month, with incredible starter plants from the Pitney Meadows Community Farm greenhouse­s. Naturally we’re practicing social distancing (please wear your protective masks) and have safety procedures in place. See you at 223 West Ave. in Saratoga Springs this weekend. You’ll get a garden full of hardy vegetables and your plant purchases will help us grow for and supply our regional food pantries.
