DHARMA MEDITATION: Meditation Classes Led by Pierre Zimmerman of One Roof Saratoga. July 12-August 30, Sundays at 9 am on the SPAC grounds in the Saratoga Spa State Park. Dharma Meditation includes inspiratio­nal topics that support emotional, cognitive, and ethical wishes for wellbeing. This is a sitting meditation for 25 minutes with a silent break allowing people to stretch, followed by a second sitting, introduced by a brief talk. A discussion on the topic and some insights and reflection­s about the nature and commonalit­y of our basic humanity is shared by attendees. This meditation is open to beginners and/ or those who have been meditating for awhile. There is no cost to attend, but a $10 donation per class is suggested. SARATOGA TATTOO EXPO: POSTPONED - The 2020 Saratoga Tattoo Expo has been officially reschedule­d to April 9 - 11, 2021 at the Saratoga Springs City Center. SUNDAY STROLL: Sunday, July 19 - Historic Fifth & Madison Avenues. The Saratoga Springs Preservati­on Foundation is thrilled to present their summer series of historic walking tours while remaining safe and socially distanced. Summer Sunday Strolls will be offered every Sunday through Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m. in various neighborho­ods throughout the city. Tour topics this season highlight prominent women of Greenridge Cemetery, the celebrated area surroundin­g the Saratoga Race Course, and the historic Spa State Park, among many others. All Sunday morning tours last approximat­ely 90 minutes and require walking and standing on varied terrain. Due to current restrictio­ns in New York State, Summer Strolls will be limited to 20 guests, which currently is less than the maximum of 25 that is currently allowed, and tickets must be purchased in advance until otherwise noted. Everyone will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be encouraged when possible. The cost per tour is $15 for SSPF members and $20 for non-members. FIDDLE WORKSHOP: Fiddling Across Traditions workshop at Glen Conservanc­y, 1538 State Highway 161, Hamlet of Glen NY 12072. Featuring Grammy Nominee Andrea Hoag. The Glen Conservanc­y will host a fiddle workshop starting the evening of July 17 and culminatin­g the afternoon of July 19. Grammy nominee Andrea Hoag is the instructor. Students will compare and contrast the fiddle styles of the Northern US, Southern US, Ireland and Sweden. The workshop will be taught by ear with sheet music distribute­d at the conclusion. It is appropriat­e for all skill levels; however must be able to play tunes by ear. It will end with a concert on 7⁄19 at 2 PM. Glen resident Susan Casler has obtained grant support for this project, cost is $20. Enrollment will be limited so please register early. ART EXHIBIT: Hudson Hall is proud to reopen its doors on June 27, 2020 with Rodney Alan Greenblat’s aptlytitle­d, Something to Look Forward to, an enjoyable, whimsical and engaging collection of new and archival works bursting with color and underpinne­d with wit and charm. The exhibition, which runs until August 23 in Hudson Hall’s Center Hall Gallery and Common Council Room, is free and open to the public on a limited, timed entry, reservatio­nonly basis (maximum 10 entries per hour). Sociallydi­stanced guided tours ($10, free for members, maximum of 6 per tour) take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 4pm. Exhibition reservatio­ns and tour tickets are now on sale to Hudson Hall members and open to the public on June 18.
