GREEK FESTIVAL: The 11th annual Adirondack Greek Festival hosted by St. George Church, 55 Main St., South Glens Falls, NY will be held on Friday & Saturday, August 28 & 29 from 12 to 7 pm. We will be offering Take-Out only and requiring social distancing and face masks. Come enjoy gyros, souvlaki, Greek salads, Greek fries, baklava and other delicious pastries. BENEFIT CONCERT: Jill Levy, violin; Ashley Bathgate, cello - Friday, August 28 and repeated Sunday, August 30. Both concerts start at 3PM. You are invited to join the Saratoga Chamber Players for a LIVE chamber music experience at the Pines, SPAC’s new open-air, covered pavilion. The concert is a benefit in support of SCP’s musicians. Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance online. In order to provide an intimate musical experience, to offer shelter from the weather, and maintain appropriat­e social distancing, there will be a strict limit of 25 attendees at each performanc­e. Mindful of state guidelines and to protect everyone’s health, each attendee will present an ID, and a ticket print-out or proof of purchase on their phone at the SPAC box office on their chosen date. Each attendee will fill out a questionna­ire on their health and travel. Temperatur­es will be taken on entering the SPAC grounds. Everyone must agree to wear a mask and maintain appropriat­e distance at all times. TROY NIGHT OUT: Last Friday of every month from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Troy. Troy Night Out is a monthly late evening that regularly draws thousands of people onto the streets of downtown Troy to shop, dine and explore. SINGLES OUTREACH ENTERTAINM­ENT EVENT:

In addition to our regularly scheduled activities, we are excited to announce exceptiona­l entertainm­ent events each Friday in August. Friday, August 28th - Norm Salisbury returns to our stage with a “friend” to entertain us for the evening starting at 7 pm. $12. Location: Hanover Square at 435 New Karner Road in Colonie (Hill Door Entrance). Social distancing and masks required. Singles Outreach is a NYS nonprofit organizati­on, open to those who are never married, single, divorced, widowed or legally separated. It was incorporat­ed as an activities organizati­on that provides all types of activities for singles, including dances, discussion groups, live entertainm­ent, picnics, , etc. to mention only a few of the more than 30 activities that we plan each month. This is not a dating organizati­on. Our activities and programmin­g leaders have worked hard to provide a safe, healthy environmen­t, which will meet all CDC guidelines in order to keep our members safe and still enjoy the weekly and daily activities. BEETHOVEN BIRTHDAY

GALA: CANCELED - Saturday, August 29 6:00 pm. Celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday at The Sembrich with an elegant evening of his merriest music! Sunday, Aug. 30 NATIONAL TRAIL MIX DAY: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30. In conjunctio­n with National Trail Mix Day the Historical Society is premiering and distributi­ng free copies of our new Walking and Windshield Tour Map of Hadley and Lake Luzerne. Come visit historic sites and markers throughout the area from the comfort of your vehicle and/or take a stroll by foot! This is a familyfrie­ndly event. There will be a scavenger hunt and free trail mix and water will be available. Maps may be picked up at the Kinnnear House Museum of Local History, 52 Main Street, Lake Luzerne. The pocket-sized, color tour map is designed to showcase the area’s historic sites either by foot or car. Thanks go to the Town of Hadley for providing the funds for this project! The free guide will also be distribute­d around the area after the premier tour on Saturday, August 30. It’s an ideal souvenir that won’t ever be out of date!

DHARMA MEDITATION:

Meditation Classes Led by Pierre Zimmerman of One Roof Saratoga. July 12-August 30, Sundays at 9 am on the SPAC grounds in the Saratoga Spa State Park. Dharma Meditation includes inspiratio­nal topics that support emotional, cognitive, and ethical wishes for wellbeing. This is a sitting meditation for 25 minutes with a silent break allowing people to stretch, followed by a second sitting, introduced by a brief talk. A discussion on the topic and some insights and reflection­s about the nature and commonalit­y of our basic humanity is shared by attendees. This meditation is open to beginners and/or those who have been meditating for awhile. There is no cost to attend, but a $10 donation per class is suggested. SLOW ROLL BIKE RIDE:

Pump up your tires and celebrate summer biking with an all ages socially distanced slow roll on the streets of Saratoga Springs. Helmets encouraged, masks are a must. Hosted by Bicycle Benefits, Palette Cafe, Bikeatoga and Impression­s of Saratoga on the last Sunday of every month. Ride rolls out from Palette Cafe at 10:15 a.m. sharp so roll over early to grab a bite to eat or drink. Cruisers, road bikes, tandems welcome. SUNDAY STROLL: Sunday, August 30 - Saratoga’s Historic West Side. The Saratoga Springs Preservati­on Foundation is thrilled to present their summer series of historic walking tours while remaining safe and socially distanced. Summer Sunday Strolls will be offered every Sunday through Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m. in various neighborho­ods throughout the city. Tour topics this season highlight prominent women of Greenridge Cemetery, the celebrated area surroundin­g the Saratoga Race Course, and the historic Spa State Park, among many others. All Sunday morning tours last approximat­ely 90 minutes and require walking and standing on varied terrain. Due to current restrictio­ns in New York State, Summer Strolls will be limited to 20 guests, which currently is less than the maximum of 25 that is currently allowed, and tickets must be purchased in advance until otherwise noted. Everyone will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be encouraged when possible. The cost per tour is $15 for SSPF members and $20 for non-members. LIVESTOCK SHOWS: The Schaghtico­ke Fair and Cornell Cooperativ­e Extension of Rensselaer County 4-H will be offering Livestock Shows Sept. 1-5 at the Schaghtico­ke Fairground­s.
