Thelma Grace Russo passed away peacefully Friday, August 13, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs, NY. Her loving sisters, mother, and father were waiting with open arms for her in heaven. Thelma was born in London, England on March 22nd 1935. She spent her youth during World War II in London until she was evacuated to the countrysid­e with her mother and sisters. Thelma came to the United States as a teenager with her Mom, Dad and sister Kathy where they joined her sister Sylvia and her family living in Brooklyn, NY. She then moved to upstate NY where she spent some years running a used furniture business and a family knitting business with her sisters.

Thelma also worked as a private nanny in Upstate New York and then moved to Connecticu­t with her sister Kathy for 20 years. She then became a Nanny to Emma and Nora Sternlof who were two of her most beloved treasures. She was also a second Nana to Sean and Ryan Terry who she loved very much.

Thelma is survived by her nieces and nephews: Cindy Terry of Connecticu­t, Paul Kosek of Kentucky, Deborah Panetto of Nevada, Richard Kosek of New York, and John Kosek of New York. She had several great nieces and nephews who she loved, as well as extended family in England and around the world.

Thelma spent the past nine years living in Embury Apartments where she was very happy reading mystery novels. She was a prolific colored pencil artist. She loved a good game of Scrabble and was a formidable opponent. Her favorite movie was Moonstruck. She enjoyed Klondike bars.
