Sasha’s of Saratoga founder Sachmarie Crowley

- By Saratogian staff

Born in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and a resident of Saratoga Springs since 2008, Sachmarie Crowley is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the health care field. A combat veteran of the United States Navy, she has served in a wide variety of health care settings in multiple capacities. Recently, Crowley started a new endeavor called Sasha’s of Saratoga, located at 2 Franklin Square in Saratoga Springs. 1. What is Sasha’s of Saratoga? “Sasha’s of Saratoga is a health and wellness boutique in downtown Saratoga Springs. We offer adult and pediatric medical cannabis certifications, IV hydration, vitamin injections, and micronutrient testing. Additionally, we provide a diagnostic evaluation of and traditional treatment for many acute symptoms, as well as consultations for chronic disease management. We also offer medically assisted weight loss regimens for those who qualify. In addition to office visits, we also offer in-home and telemedicine appointments.

“Our approach to treatment is that true health and wellness is not merely the absence of disease. Our goal for our patients is to discover the optimal version of themselves. The care we provide is unrushed and personalized to meet the needs of our patients. One of the most important lessons we need to take from the current pandemic is that it is essential to keep ourselves healthy and our immune systems functioning at optimal levels.”

2. Why did you decide to start this new business?

“As a Nurse Practitioner working for years with a predominantly older population with multiple comorbidities, on so many medications, I became increasingly dissatisfied with the traditional medicine approach of just managing disease. There seemed to be little concern about making people better.

“Everything is geared towards checking all the right boxes and moving on. Whether or not the patient gets better seems to be of no concern. As a Navy corpsman with 15 years of service, I witnessed three of my fellow sailors suffering from PTSD take their own lives after going through various traditional treatments. But again, everyone checks their boxes and moves on. I wanted to start a new kind of practice offering a more personalized approach and incorporating holistic as well as traditional medicine.”

3. What do you enjoy most about what you do?

“My favorite part of what I do is seeing people progress. When my weight loss patients achieve goals that they didn’t think were possible and they have increased energy and feel so much happier, I feel joy that I have made a positive impact in someone’s life. I enjoy getting to know what my patients want out of life and then helping them to attain it.

There is no greater reward to be had as a provider than that feeling that you have been part of a pivot point in your patient’s life which sets them on a positive course that will inevitably improve the quality of that person’s life.”

4. What is your ultimate goal for Sasha’s of Saratoga?

“What I would like to see more than anything is for the approach we use at Sasha’s of Saratoga to become more widespread throughout the field of health care in the United States. Most practices in the United States are driven by numbers and profits without regard to patient outcomes. I want that personal approach to become the standard of care for all medicine.”

5. How can folks learn more about what Sasha’s of Saratoga has to offer?

“To learn more about what we have to offer, you can go to sashasofsaratoga.com and explore our services in greater depth and book an appointment.”
