Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation Executive Director Samantha Bosshart, as chair of the National Preservation Partners Network (NPPN), will be a new Observer to the ACHP for a twoyear term ending Jan. 1, 2026.

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) Chair Sara Bronin designated Bosshart to the position the ACHP announced in a press release.

The ACHP promotes the preservation, enhancement and sustainable use of the nation’s diverse historic resources, and advises the President and Congress on national historic preservation policy, it said in the release. It is an independent federal agency comprised of 24 statutorily designated members from federal agencies, preservation organizations, Native American tribes and expert private citizens.

Observers serve on the ACHP, attend meetings and provide advice on topics under consideration by the members and represent organizations, constituencies, or views not already represented on the ACHP. Over the years, the release said Observers have contributed important insights that inform the work of the ACHP.

The NPPN is a membership-based nonprofit dedicated to building and strengthening the capacity of individual partner organizations and the collective historic preservation movement through training, networking, knowledge sharing, technical assistance and semi-annual convenings. According to the release, it represents more than 100 local, regional, and statewide preservation organizations across the country.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as an Observer to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation on the behalf of the National Preservation Partners Network,” Bosshart said in the release. “NPPN is a growing network that represents preservationists across the nation and is eager to support the ACHP’s efforts to promote the preservation, enhancement and sustainable use of our nation’s historic resources.”

Also announced in the release, Bronin designated Abigail Christman, chair of the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions; Ann Alexander Walker, director of the Preserve America Youth Summit; and Susan Snell Barnes of the ACHP Foundation to serve twoyear terms as Observers.
